If there are quality candidates out there looking to join the board, by all means make some noise for them and campaign your heart out . Moaning about the board as whole, when the club is moving from stagnation to progress is pointless.

im not campaining for any candidate..yes when we are bottom wooden spoon side in the seniors and the reserves with a 6.3 million debt, yep the only progress is up..

Yep, club got itself in a big old mess- new list manager and new CFO. Hopefully we've turned the corner.

Sounds easy.. List manager but no recruiting manager
And a washed up CEO

Both appointed by the same decision makers who made all the other decisions over the last six or seven years
Yup we've turned the corner.

"Hopefully"

That 'word' again

I'm not sure what's an improvement in this kind of scenario.

How are we measuring success exactly...

They still didn't say what happens at the end of the "66 game rebuild"

Just meaningless statements

When do they give us some kind of meaningful timetable and markers?

They're funny... It's just the usual unaccountable mumbo jumbo
Groundhog day...

But we're the ones expected to stop repeating ourselves?
Really?

What markers are they using?
Please enlighten us

You keep dumping MLG in with Sticks and Swann. Fresh slate when they took over

Different approach to the playing list, contracts and an acknowledgement in areas of weakness such as player development. A committee formed to search for the next coach. I can understand your lack of faith after the shemozzle of the millennium to date, but there are several markers of change observable from the supporters chair. I suspect you are desperate to only see the fail.

The schemozzle started well before the start of the new millennium.

Well, you can probably date it to our last premiership. Complacency in success.

Track...record...vinyl...scratch...stuck in track...plays the same bit over...and over...and over.

OK, I'll show myself out.

I'm optimistic about the coming season(s). Just renewed my membership for the 46th consecutive year.

I believe that gives me the right to say ''we'' and ''us'' when referring to the Carlton Football Club. That's just how I roll.

If I have something to say re the club, I'll do so to the relevant people within the club. Some robust conversations have been had.
(Hi Goughie  )

What I won't do, is publicly rant ad nauseum like a petulant child. Because such behaviour achieves zero.

:thanks: well said murraycray, legend! Good reminder for me to do the same, plus for my kids.

One disagreement though - the constant whining and repeat loop actually detracts (it's not achieving 'nothing') from this site. It means people leave this site or just not bother.

Well said Murraycray - spoken like a true Carlton supporter :smoking:

Complete and utter rubbish

Its a perception of conflict of interest

Pratt j would have to be a Collingwood member to attend a Collingwood AGM

Our club is still broken and until there is a full wipe out of our board with an entirely new board we will just be like a cork bobbing in the ocean. ..

I'd reckon when your son-in-law is worth $2 billion and sits on the Collingwood board he can find a spare seat for Nan to sit with her daughter and grandchildren.

You should be happy that one of Carlton's board members got to see how it's really done.

So you are acknowledging that pratt does not know how a football club can be properly run?

I'd be acknowledging that for most of this century and a goodly part of the last decade of the last century, our Board really hasn't had much of a clue how a football club is properly run.
