3 ruckman?

Yep I reckon they can all rotate fwd, and I think all are a better option than Jaksch atm.

I count 4 ruckmen if you count Cas
Can't see it happening

I know what you are saying but I'm not counting Cas, and from all training reports both Gorringe and Phillips have been spending plenty of time up forward.
Which leads me to think that one of them, most likely Gorringe, will at least be tried as a Kpf.

There's only one nominated rookie spot this season, so Byrne and Sheehan can't play in the same team without an LTI (assuming that the competition for the spot is between them).

Given Sumner is still in the rehab group he'll probably go straight to the LTI list.

he was always predicted to return to full training early 2016. I havent heard anything that changes that. Hopefully he gets to play this year

Casboult stay at home KPF
Gorringe as a CHF/ High HF
Philips/Kreuzer swapping between FP/ IC/ Gorringe

They are all mobile with Casboult less so than the other 3, but a superior mark whose kicking for goals improved last year.
Kreuzer is No 1 ruckman, and Phillips has been performing well in preseason with both marking and running.
Gorringe was a discard from GCS but is an incredible athlete and good footballer who just needs to place more weight on effort and success than ego.

It can happen.

We'd be pretty desperate at that point, I'd rather us go into the game with the one ruckman and up to two forwards that can pinch hit.

Casboult is one, McKay or Gorringe might be the other.

I remember the doubts raised at having Kreuzer Warnock and Hampson play in the same team.
Despite Warnock and Hampson being liabilities it happened.

Whilst I am not expecting all 4 to play in same 22, Anything is possible.
All 4 big guys are showing something this preseason and a hell of a lot more than Warnock and Hampson ever did.

We need to leave something reasonable in the two's as well otherwise it will impact on their development.

Just because it can happen doesn't mean it should happen. If we have three blokes in the forward line over 200cm, as well as Everett and walker, as soon as it hits the ground were stuffed.

1. Love upside but pre season training doesn't mean we can go ubertall in today's game
2. With extra height being considered here you'd have to compensate with other players in the forward line i.e. tighter smalls and more pace otherwise we'll just leak.

It's pure guesswork but just have a really good vibe about new boys Phillips and Cuningham.

JW clearly going to be good and fingers crossed for the others...

Just because you say it does.....just joking

I'm just saying how it could happen. Personally I like a few tall targets forward with plenty of running power...as long as we don't get beaten decisively in the ruck.

And Curnow. What other ~195cm kid walks into an AFL club and finishes top 3 in the time trial. He's going to run his opponents ragged like Hrreeevolt :smoking:

I'm staggered that the running machine is 195cm, just as I was when Kouta became a midfielder in 1995 at 190cm. The nips are getting bigger.

Where's Plowman at currently? Last update I saw was regarding hip surgery pre-Christmas. Does anyone know if he has returned to training. Would have him in my best 22 but unsure whether he will be available at the start of the season

Curnow is not 195cm. Hopefully he stays at the hight he is. Don't want to compromise his mobility. Our most Exciting prospect after Weiters.

I said ~195. He's 192 I believe?

I agree though, would like to see him played on rotation through the midfield with Cripps - both resting forward.

Track watchers reckon he's grown since draft camp, McKay too.

He's been out on the track at times, but was indoors for rehab last open training session according to Harker.
