I'm not sure where you going with that. My advice is blue-lieve! Put you faith in the great Triggasaurus.

34,567 today, and the target is slipping further out of reach (I think your figure from yesterday was incorrect).

If that live meter is accurate, they're picking up the pace this afternoon. Perhaps they've outsourced a call centre?

I've bought 2 memberships - and I could probably buy 2 more but even I don't think we'll hit 51k by the target date.

I'm looking at the live membership tracker and it's at 34,447 right now but keeps updating every few seconds... must be in early processing members. :lol:

if we get to 45000 by the opening round I believe 50-55m is not out of our reach ,provided we have some wins.Either way our membership has improved ..We have a long way to go. Wouldnt be many teams in the AFL who finished last who have 35000 members by Feb 1st

Oh ffs, this is sitting the page source for anyone to see (albeit not everyone will get it):

Code:
 <script>

      // Ash wants a live counter - let's do it!
      var counterTarget = 35027;
      var counterValue  = 35026;

      if (counterValue == 0) {
        counterValue = counterTarget - (Math.floor((Math.random() * 100)) + 100);
        if (counterValue < 0 ) counterValue = 0;
         }

      function setNewCounterValue() {

        counterValue += Math.floor((Math.random() * 6) + 1);

        if (counterValue >= counterTarget) {

          counterValue = counterTarget;

        }  else {

               $('.animate-number').numerator({
             duration:  1500,
             toValue: counterValue,
             delimiter: ',', // This causes the whole thing to get sloppy
             onComplete: function(){
                    Cookies.set('counterValue', counterValue);
                    setTimeout(setNewCounterValue, Math.floor((Math.random() * 15000) + 3000));
                  }
           });

            }

      }

      setNewCounterValue();

  </script>

Basically that code animates the counter by making it roll through from a random number below the total (but above a starting point), to the actual number (as I wrote this post, someone has changed the counterTarget value from 0 to 35,026, hello CFC staff member).

If the counterTarget value is zero, it will spaz about like we've been seeing, but if someone is regularly punching in the updates correctly, it will perform a little differently. So the figure is still being manually updated, rather than being retrieved from their membership database (which could be safely done if they knew how to code for it).

So without a figure close to the current total, it's basically comes across as a sales trick to look like there's more activity than there is, but the good news is the total is actually higher than we all thought: 35,027.

I did a quick check via LinkedIn, Ash is likely referring to Ashley Aidone, CFC's Sales Manager.

I do love how the script notes are basically whoever wrote spouting positive sales nonsense immediately after a team meeting, then they've quite clearly gotten weary later on trying to make a simple counter work the way the sales rep wants it to.

Ash sounds like the kind of manager that makes me bleed from eyeballs after prolonged exposure.

I did write sometime back that's exactly what it's doing. If you stay watching it long enough you'll get to the actual figure.

Just a gimmick but at least we know how to get the actual figure at anytime now :lol:

Expecting a mild surge over the next few days because Cripps, but they're not hitting their targets for 51k.

My goodness, what a terrible site. Details can't be updated; credit card details not accepted; site collapses once you hit the approve button. Have emailed the Club but the front door has to be fully functional. This is not good enough Carlton.

I meant the targets that need to be met to make the 51k which only seem to exist in jimmae's head....

I think he modelled on achieving x membership numbers by Rd 1 and dividing remaining days til that day. Something like ~350 per day reqd.

Or, as Jimmae would say, "Math bitches".

Gotcha.... THOSE targets.

I'd have thought they'd be planning a boost for Family Day....

Was 318 at the time, but yeah it's up to about 350 a day already.

Obviously there will be fluctuations, but if they're not getting 300 in most days, it's going to be a struggle without a stellar set of pre-season games. It's an extremely ambitious goal without our new look side having kicked a ball in anger.

Hopefully they picked up another 1000 members on the weekend, but that would be what, a sign-up rate of 40% from the attendance?

Last year, albeit in an abysmal season but before the damage was done, we only picked up about 4200 members in February, or an average of 150 a day. We're tracking about the same, which is a mild improvement but not the doubling of the membership rate they were hoping for.

As Ando has pointed out, the membership website is still garbage, because the QA for it non-existent: there's still form coming up after the landing page has been opened for a while, reading 'BELOW AND WE’LL CALL YOU BACK!'

I'm sure no one's confused as to what the form is there for, but someone got paid and didn't check their work.
