Yes.. The peanut guy didn't bother coming back.. Either did the whistler!
Everybody knows... It's broken!

Funny how footy adults get mad when you tell them truth.. They much prefer lies!
They need to keep telling themselves lies to keep going forward.. Truth is such a bitch to face! Much prefer fantasy

Amazing

Lol

Grown adults.. I can understand children!

We weren't recruiting Paul Brodie for his social habits.
Obviously the club thought the role was warranted or they wouldn't have chased him to fill the position.

As bv says
. why bother headhunting him in the first place?

Is this guy amazing or not?
He's sounded out at head banana when he isn't even available!

Only man in Australia that can do that job
Just Paul Brodie! Nobody else! Loll

Brodie would change the dynamic, but I don't see the disaster though in not having a "head" recruiter. Port for instance are running with a recruiting manager and an assistant on their payroll. The strategy during the last trade period showed the club has made a distinct improvement in this area of operations.

How do you know it's an improvement in this area?
Because it's going to be sos that's going to grade his own work?

I'm not sure what markers you're actually using here

BTW Paul Brodie is one of sos best friends.
Also our next recruits eventually.. In the third year of the rebuild of our rebuild..

The recruiter you have when you don't have s recruite.. Funny all this time I thought that was Scott Clayton

An agreement was made before his ban from the game. That's not a fault from our end. I'm not partial to information regarding the workload and efficiency of the current set up minus Brodie, but the draft haul was impressive. That of course is meaningless until the draftees prove something on field.

I've been marking it by having watched the Giants draft and develop every week up here, they've got it right. Carlton under our old system in previous years didn't. Sos could be Darren Milburn for all I care, he knows what he's doing, which is the important thing. The club is finally on the right track after selling snake oil to the fan base in the past.

if true just a tried and proven failed strategy of carlton over the last decades....

change must come from the top - a top down wipe out of the Board and a full clean out of internal administration

the board hasnt changed - they are all the same (bar 1 invitational appointment Jenkins )that delivered the clubs 4th wooden spoon..... :donk:

Really? Would you rather us target someone from an Internet forum for the role?

For a Senior position, we are obviously going to try and get the best from another club. Dalrymple or Wright or whoever has the skill set for the role.

Yes, but not change for change's sake. You'll run the risk of ending up with the different people wearing the same suits. What's needed is innovation. And there's bugger-all innovation coming out of the place because, while they're trying their darnedest - it just isn't in their DNA.

Those who have come onto the board bright-eyed and bushy-tailed hoping to re-invigorate the place through innovation (Trainor, Fahour are two) have been somewhat underwhelmed by the stale Carlton board experience in implementing ideas into reality.

The board's main objective this year is to improve its financial fortunes or risk losing part control of the club to the AFL. That's it in a nutshell. There's not much else on their radar. So they won't be spending on innovation, and chances are they won't be spending on a head recruiter. I'm only guessing, but this is possibly the last year of the board having much relevance.

So maybe what supporters have to ask themselves is - what Carlton model is better for the long-term future of the club? An partially AFL controlled model, such as the one the Roos and Demons have? Or the current board spinning wheels every year and trying to keep the wolf from the door?

I agree though that Carlton was damaged irreversibly by the AFL sanction of 2003 and has not recovered nor adapted to the new way since that time..the club board appears to cant manage itself nor do anything new and make things happen to grow the club.

so a fully installed AFL appointed Carlton Board may be the way to go for the future subject to certain cast iron guarantees back to the club...

the other alternative is to entirely rewrite the constitution of the club for more ordinary members represented on a Board and with all Board appointments SOLELY appointed by member vote - none of this dancing around nooks and crannies with voluntary retirements and invitational appointments that appears to have happened over the decades..

what this means is that each director has to go to the members and seek their vote..-if they are passionate, driven, smart, creative and obsessed Carlton people - thats important criteria...not just a need to boost their CV or gain prestige..
