My point is I despise people who whinge and complain, on a fan forum of all places, and refuse to do anything to try and make a difference.

I guess putting a gazillion words down on a forum is a lot easier than a 10 minute conversation on the phone or spending an hour or so writing a detailed, thoughtful email that attempts to provide insights into maybe why the club fails to connect with disconnected supporters.

My game is customer service/ service management and I can tell you now whilst we all like a pat on the back at times its the negative feedback that are the true nuggets of gold.

Is he evil? Who cares ! But he is crap! Nobody would deny he's useless as tits on a bull
He would probably agree himself if he was honest!
But he's the same as everybody else... Just crap.. So the club is crap!
How can the club be great, if those that drive the club are crap?
Impossible!

Former Unofficial Selection Committee. Nice guy. Means well, but perhaps didn't convey his message well? President would have been expecting a small Calabrian man to stand up during proceedings. They speak throughout the year.

----------

I find the irate members (including AGRO) an interesting case study. I think there's a Kübler-Ross model happening. Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. No one is at a wrong stage - people are just at different stages. The club has gone through these phases too. Right now I think they're in a bargaining phase - e.g... "I can change. Please give me a chance."

This is a good thing, because as a board - they were in the denial phase for a long time.

I dunno... I'm rambling. As a supporter, I personally want to get to acceptance. I'm not quite there yet - but I do know that this President and CEO are right when they invite members to call/email or have a coffee and a chat with them. That hasn't happened too often. Take advantage of it if you can. This isn't a public listed company. An AGM forum at Carlton is no longer an opportune time to air your grievances.

While the club is in a dark place - there is light at the end of the tunnel. Take a deep breath. Relax. Embrace the child-like Carlton supporter inside you. Have fun with it. Release the negative energy. Remove the anger...a lot of the stuff we were/are pent up about just doesn't matter anymore.

May everyone have a safe and happy Christmas. See you at the football in 2016. Go Blues.

Thanks Doc

Yeah Joe had an axe to grind for sure. Just doesn't do anyone any good to vent like that, was ridiculous really. Mark knew him and mentioned he takes Joe's calls often so for me the point was " Hey everyone listen to me". Didn't do anyone any good.

It would be good for people to actually ask a question nursing a Q and A and not just ramble on either blowing wind up someone's arse or trying to just pull them dow.

Personally I think we are on the right track

Merry Xmas all

He's not Calabrian he's Neapolitan.
No Axe to grind..

Hey Joe! Where you going with that gun in your hand...

The question still begs to be answered.. How could we be into our second year of a self proclaimed three year rebuild without a recruiting manager.?
Any shill answering this question better be prepared to follow up with some wisdom!

Just a crap club pretending it has everything right now.

To be fair to the club we were rubbish when we had a recruiting manager so perhaps not having one is a step towards better times...

Personally I don't get the need to rant and rave over & over again but the very objectively provable fact that we're shit. Why the angst? It's been clear for many many years albeit hidden by a draft pick led resurgence / bounce that tends to happen (but disappeared quickly).

There is no value in restating the obvious. Again.

Why do you enjoy the same slop dished up to you by the same group time and time again?

You don't care there's no head of recruiting two years straight. Deep into our rebuild?
No?
Seriously?

Well not everybody can be like you..

Sos cannot be the list manager responsible for putting lines through names when he brought them to the club in the first place!

He didn't rate Hughes picks. Got rid of almost all of them.
Though he's picked up his own discards from his gws coaching regime

Who said I enjoyed it?

You blathering on post after post about how shit we are just doesn't add anything. We're shit. Done. Repeating 142x in 17 different threads means there's nothing but your oppressive angst here.

I'll repeat it as long as they repeat the Carlton groundhog day scenario they have been dishing up.
The more crap they continue dishing up be prepared to hear the same response.
It's not going away because you don't want to hear it!
Lol

Remember.. It's not me you really don't like.. It's hearing the reality about the club.
Very difficult to know that the club is crap! Especially if you're investing time and money emotionally in it.
Loll

I would at the very least like to see a bit of courage from either the CEO or the president.

Geelong dishes it up to the AFL:

"He (CATS CEO Brian Cook) also reiterated the club's view that the methodology that determines each club's contribution to the AFL's equalisation pool is flawed, with Geelong believing its contribution should be nowhere near that of clubs such as Collingwood and West Coast, which is capped at $500,000 despite their profits." - this is reported in The Age.

Geelong flies the flag for clubs that bear the brunt for the AFL's Insanity Tax (equalisation tax)
That is a fact. Meanwhile, meek as a mice Carlton never makes any noise, never discusses AFL policy.

Meanwhile Carlton's president states stuff that is largely fluff and doesn't put any of it back on the AFL to address the issue of dis-equal funding and why Hawthorn, for example, gets to play 10 home games at the MCG...Publicise it that you think Hawthorn should play some HOME games at Docklands - Geelong CEO did that. Carlton is squeaky clean and subservient..

"Aside from our win-loss record there are other factors that led to this result," president Mark LoGiudice said ....regarding the club losing millions of dollars this year. Where is the extra funding from the AFL? Didn't they do that for Port, Brisbane, Bulldogs, North Melbourne and Melbourne etc when they made big losses?

"Our management team is committed to returning Carlton to a financial surplus during 2016, this will be through strong cost control and growing traditional and non-traditional revenue streams."

Blah, blah, blah... have a bit of vigour.

Eg - 1) we don't want to pay the Equalisation tax, we are seeking a fairer distribution of money from the AFL...we are asking the AFL to encourage Hawthorn and Collingwood to play some of their home games at Docklands etc..get involved.

It is clear from this statement and statements from Trigg which clubs and CEOs are under the thumb of the AFL and which clubs aren't.

Thoses penaties where ridiculouly unrealistic and should never have been put into place.
The AFL almost capitulated and destroyed of of their historically significant and more valuable assets.
A little misguided all be it reasonable and noble intentions on their part.

Synbad....can't be that hard to give up......

......you don't buy a membership these days,
......you think the club is shit....
......for some reason you aren't on the board

A man of your intelligence surely has wider interests.

Why bring yourself down to our level......simple supporters, who despite the clubs challenges, look at our plight naively with a half glass full appetite?

Go on......you can do it.....walk away....go somewhere where you might make a difference
