Plowman sidelined

New Carlton recruit Lachie Plowman has had a pre-season setback.

Plowman has had minor hip surgery to relieve the discomfort he has been experiencing since resuming training in November.

He's expected to resume light training duties in a fortnight and will be ready to resume full training in 8-10 weeks.

Current rest/rehab group at training (according to Harker and others): Glass-McCasker, Kreuzer, Casboult, Murphy, Armfield, Silvagni, Byrne, Sumner, White, Wood and Jaksch.

Note that players get rotated through there often to give them a lighter day on the track due to niggles/workload. Of those names, I think only Jaksch has a current injury concern (as opposed to those working back into full-training from post-op period, etc).

Probably Rowe, so Jamison can play on the quicker medium types.

I've been advised by the club it will only be needed for 1–2 weeks.

Barass on BF says Murph might need more shoulder surgery.

Poster who went to training session on the GC yesterday says Murph was nowhere to be seen.

The Blues have begun their pre-season training camp on the Gold Coast but Marc Murphy is yet to join them.

Murphy has undergone a minor procedure on his left shoulder after experiencing some discomfort while training last week.

The Club is awaiting further test results before being able to confirm his prognosis.

Murphy will join his teammates at their training camp later in the week.

CARLTON captain Marc Murphy has undergone shoulder surgery and it is unclear how long he will be sidelined for.

The skipper has not yet joined his teammates on their Gold Coast pre-season training campaign, having had what the club has termed "a minor procedure" on his shoulder.

He is awaiting the results of some more tests before determining how long he will be out for.

Minor procedure is the term used by the club when you are trying to sell memberships.
