If I were you Tap - I'd wait until the AFL annual report came out. That'll give you a breakdown of what each club receives from the future fund. You won't be surprised re: the Dees, Roos, Saints and Dogs - but I think you'll be surprised what the Dons receive and I think you'll see that the Blues will get a fairer distribution that what you think. Keep in mind though - that the people running the club don't want to completely erase the debt.

Hi TKI sorry if you have explained this elsewhere - but why is it that the club does not to want to get rid of the debt?

Doc it's the cheapest form of debt they have access to, what purpose does being debt free serve if they're making the payments, and it was the best option to exercise for the assets raised?

I just wrote a jimmae-esque war and peace rant, but culled it. It's draft day - the club has 4 picks in the top 20, a vibrant new coach, a Silvagni running the show and the romanticism of a new SOS coming into the club. The off-field is an absolute clusterflower but today should be all about the on-field and the new hope that it represents. Go Blues!

Help me Obi-Wan-Silvagni, you're our only hope!

Carlton announce a loss of nearly $1 million after horror 2015 season

CARLTON’s miserable 2015 season brought about a loss of almost $1 million, fuelled by a decrease in attendances, player injury payments and sweeping coaching and staff changes.

The Blues announced the big loss on Saturday, with president Mark LoGiudice saying he was confident the club could make a profit again next year.

LoGiudice urged Carlton supporters to stay patient as he was confident the tide would start to turn off and off the field.

“Aside from our win-loss record there are other factors that led to this result, but the board and management have meticulously reviewed the club’s operations and Carlton members should be optimistic about our future,” LoGiudice said.

“Our management team is committed to returning Carlton to a financial surplus during 2016, this will be through strong cost control and growing traditional and non-traditional revenue streams.”

So, the blueprint is officially binned... and a new 'masterplan' to be released next year.

Lol.

I don't understand after our last few financial performances why we're kicking into the equalisation fund with our losses. Even more baffled why it's increasing next year.

Haha, thread title is bullshit.

considering it was close to the worst onfield performance in the history of the club, sacked coaches, significant off field transition of staff and contributing to Melbourne and North so they can make a profit and still under a mill.

Blue skies ahead!!

900k before depreciation and amortisation.
Somewhere closer to 2m after that and the equalisation tax I guess.

Not great, it's a pretty deflated market.

I've always found it more tax effective to lease Hovercraft
