What faction is Kate a member of?

I agree with so much of what you say. Maybe I'm more hopeful the regeneration can take place in a non factional manner, which Kate seems to represent.

As Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commissioner, Kate created the 'Male Champions of Change' earlier this year and in doing so garnered the support of influential male, corporate, government and community leaders to advance gender equality and place more women into leadership positions.

Among the group of 20 men are Luke Sayers, Ahmed Fahour and Gillon McLachlan who have fulfilled the MO within a few months. The aim being to achieve faster progress of women’s representation at senior levels. Tick!

As a part of the free kick it gets from government funding - the men must share their experiences, engage women and men within their organisations, commit to concrete actions, report on progress and share the outcomes they achieve.

My boss is one of these 20 men. It's a great initiative, but equally - it's a really big PR exercise for the organisations these men represent, and in some instances, run. I'm not saying Kate doesn't deserve to be on Carlton's board, although she has been afforded this opportunity by Mark LoGiudice - so if she had to vote tomorrow - she's not crossing the floor.

That's not to say that she won't be a part of a non-factional Carlton going forward, but those days seem a long way away.

And yeah if they think CRM is an IT driven exercise that is more than a little worrying.

It's not all that's worrying. If you think this board is 'holding firm' with the AFL as they'd like you to believe - think again. They can't even negotiate for the AFL to chip in a cent for the major drainage overhaul required at Princes Park. According to the AFL - it comes under the maintenance requirements in place attached to the Melbourne City Council lease - despite the fact that the AFL schedule dozens of matches there every year.

I'm sure funds will be able to be guided in this direction via the AFL's future fund payment of which I am expecting a significant increase, but the club has its hands tied for quite a bit of stuff it would like to do (like replacing the undersized goalposts) due to lack of funds.

Millions of dollars on the board, millions of dollars in debt.

thanks

so who identified and recommended Jenkins as a candidate for the CFC Board? if the Judge didnt know about her, was it farouh or the ceo of the afl?

He's got about twelve months max. He really needs to find revenue streams fast.
I'm sure he can do it.

I'm sure it was mentioned, but what was the issue with goalposts?

The width of the posts are standard right? Isn't that the purpose to kick it between them?

Fair enough.

Not sure we're playing enough games there for it to be too high on the list of issues the club has at the moment.

Doc, he was a compromise between the two factions. His work since becoming president certainly pints that way still.

So tell me the factions on the board and where they sit with each other?

Actually be wasn't a compromise. He's a Bruce charger
Just so happened that the Pratts lost the numbers with Newton and sticks..
Why do you keep on promoting him as a clearskin and a people's president? Lol

It's quite easy Synners, done more in the last 18 months than any pres in the last 25 years.

And yes he was, you went on and on about it when he came to power

Pratts and Natheisons wanted their own and agreed on MLG

Yes he achieved a wooden spoon plus a two and a half million dollar loss in his first year.. That's more than any other president in the last twenty five years.
He's also gone a year without a chief recruiter.. Going into his second

Plus add to that gone backwards in membership drive..
Plus been the first president in history to proclaim a 66 game rebuild whilst waving the white flag straight after round two.
That record will be unmatched. And certainly has not been precedented in the last twenty five years.. Or living memory.. Maybe history wise..

Amazing

You already know what they are. I'm not interested in having a back and forth discussion. Happy to have a beer to discuss. Points get lost in forums. I used to argue with Synbad about this stuff. Back and forth - it doesn't get anyone anywhere. This is merely my off-season vice.

I'm ok with the fact that you like LoGiudice as President. Mark's a reasonable bloke. He'd like the adulation. But I don't get worked up about Carlton anymore. It is what it is. It's sad. It won't change in a hurry. I made the mistake of getting close to the footy club in part because I couldn't believe what some of my friends were saying. But it was worse than I imagined.

Wes Lofts once mentioned that the football public don't realise that football clubs aren't professional organizations equivalent to businesses of a similar size but are more like local amateur community groups. That's not true of all clubs, but it is true of Carlton.

I'm not a member - and I don't go to the footy. I sold my Hyundai and stopped going to the club. I haven't been to the club since I had a one-on-one meeting with the CEO and Pres a year ago and I don't foresee a time when I'll go back.

I don't want Carlton to shrivel up and die - but I do want them to bottom out. For that to happen, the Oligarchs and most of the current board would have to go because when it comes to operation and strategy, theirs are akin to a university Business Management assignment.

Now if you'll excuse me - I have to go and short my bitcoin position.
