Really?

This board consists of a lot of people that have been there quite a while. I'm sure their heart is in the right place but we've been terrible on and off field.

MLG may be turning things around, but if someone else wants to challenge and have a go at it I wouldn't be disappointed.

The board with the right leadership is moving the titanic away from the iceberg. What is a new board going to do better?

Given the current board's pathetic failure over the last 15 years why should they stay?

Give someone else a go, they couldn't do any worse....

Drag this club into the 21st century?

Be innovative rather than copying whichever club has taken their fancy recently.

Who are they copying this year?
What is left on the agenda they haven't covered?
What is innovation in your mind?

They have a think tank available for ideas to put forward.

We also have a sub committee to avoid mates being placed on the board. See our announcement recently? Has anyone ever heard of her before as a prospective Carlton board member? Do you think that type of board member would get a gig under an Elliot backed regime?

Replacing a board that has delivered on many of the fans requests this year is stupid. That's what I was responding to, not individuals being replaced. Individuals will come and go, but the right Chairman is in place that is kicking more goals off-field than we are on.

What's wrong with the board being democratically accountable to the members ?

Nothing if the Club was in a shambles. The perception is very positive from what I see and read.

The point is that they need to be accountable.

For the last 8 or so horrifically mismanaged years they've been operating without being unaccountable to anyone for their continual flowerups.

They can sell 'inclusiveness' as much as they like but in reality they're very exclusive.

Can't help thinking one particular poster is trying to set some sort of record for multiple user names.

Boekhurst Ready to run recruit for outside speed (best available in Australia at pick 19)
Watson the Weapon. Great preseason where he left 2014 with 4 against Essendon*. Hot to go.

Pick 7 Jaksch Whiley Boekhurst
Picks Vojo Smith
Trade In: Jones Tutt Dick

Delist: Waite McLean Lucas Garlett Robinson Bootsma Duigan McInnes Duigan Scotland Cachia 2

B: Jamison Rowe Tuohy
HB: Yarran Jaksch Simpson
C: Bell Gibbs Murphy
R: Kreuzer Judd White
HF: Thomas Henderson Docherty
F: Everitt Jones Menzel

IC: Cripps Carrazzo Curnow
S: Smith

Thomas does shoulder a minute into the season
Jaksch breaks rib in 1at quarter of season
White conditioned for run with role: tagger
Warnock breaks down
Yarran breaks up with girlfriend
Watson has continued form where he left 3014 with 4 against Essendon*.
Smith is raw
Boekhurst not adjusting to tempo as expected in first year
Watson hasn't adjusted to AFL in his 4th season
Jamison does a shoulder, again and again

Guy is way out of his depth and at the right time. Probably the end of next season.. He will be eliminated from the big brother Carlton house.
Not only is he proving he's out of his depth but the guy has no powerbase and he happens to be at Carlton.
That just doesn't work!

Lol, that's what the rank and file want.... They don't want power base.

But he's not a rank and file he's a puppet.
He's put there by his masters.

He's basically one of them without a power base
In Shakespeare's Hamlet be plays the part ofRosencrantz and Guildenstern.. If you want to know more about them read Stoppard's 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead'
You understand.

This is your problem Synners, you distil every person down into a small set of archetypes, and more often than not you're wrong.

Some people are very clever, but take their time to come to a decision so they're not very quotable, nor are they necessarily great at thinking on their feet. He's a businessman, not a general at war*, so he can read and research and ask questions and read and research some more, he rarely is left with no time to make a decision.

If that's who he is, I really don't give two shits about how he sounds at a press conference or what people think of his conversational skills at parties, I care about what decision he makes when it matters. He seems to be nailing it at the moment. If you think he's a figurehead and suddenly the rest of the board is spouting good ideas as soon as he takes over then you're as gullible as others have implied in the past.

I see Trigg similarly: not the greatest interview subject, but preaches a patient and measured approach. If you want fireworks and one-liners, build a time machine and go back to the late 80s and live the glory days of Keating, Hawke, Donald Trump and Jack Elliot, personally I'd like to stick with a good plan for more than 8 months.

* - cue you going on an epic spiel about how the end of CFC's days are coming and this is war
