Bell and 40 something for Pick 21
DONE DEAL!!

Happy with that. Well done Blues.

So far going to plan with first rounder for Hendo and early second rounder for Bell.

Now another first rounder for Yarran and that's been effective trading.

Bell deal looks okay, tho Bell was 4th in the b and f. I thought we may be able to do a swap for Aish, but we didn't seem that keen on him so maybe we don't rate him or think he will come to us via the PSD. The Bell deal success will depend on how we use the pick 21. Cd we do a Carlton and pick up Adam Hartlett, Hampson, Grigg, Russell. Lucas, Bootsma, Watson, Temay, or will we get the next Fyffe, Cripps or at least a 100 gamer? Over to you SOS.

Let's use that pick along with our pick 20 and deal with GWS to gain Pick 8 and a couple of players. We might have to wait for the Yarran compo as well..

There might be more in it than meets the eye but why should we be giving away 40?

Don't need it? Maybe getting another 3rd rounder somewhere else?

Think it's a great trade, helps significantly in dealing with GWS. If those pretenders relent and give pick 12 Thursday 2pm will be massive.

11,20 an 21 for Tomlinson and co. and Pick 8. I think it's a massive chance of happening

I'd get rid of Rowe first if a trade could be done. You're joking yourself if you don't think he's in the bottom quarter of the list and at his ceiling.

I think Armfield will get a two year deal. Agree that Foster and Clem are the draftees feeling the pinch right now, but Rowe and Whiley are odds on to be gone, particularly Rowe.

Wood is gone if we have any sense; Simpson would likely retire. I don't expect White to be here come the next list deadline, but whether that's trade or otherwise is down to the number of interested parties.

FWIW Foster's old man was a bit of a slow starter, but went on to be a very good footballer.

I have no issue with Foster, but he's gone from back injury to foot injury and he needs to be able to show something before the end of the season to stave off being in delisting conversations. That's all. I think he could be a good KPP for us if he builds up his body.

Gowers, Walsh, DVR, Sheehan, Foster and Smith all have work to do, but Sheehan, Gowers & Walsh aren't taking up senior list spots, while DVR ticks almost every box except endurance, which he can work on if he keeps improving the way he has been.

We'll likely delist Wood, White, Rowe, Tutt and Dick before any of the other names I've mentioned (though I expect Whiley won't be far behind). We need to elevated Byrne and Sheehan next year if they're sticking around; Simpson will be eyeing off retirement and Casboult and Armfield might want to shift clubs for some success. There will be cuts.

Drafting in a ruckman for anything less than pick 30 these days is madness. Let someone draft and develop them, and then swoop when you can offer someone more opportunity.

Both Schwab and Swann have confirmed they'll only accept a 1st rounder for Aish from Collingwood, respecting his club choice, or it's the draft. Tough talk, even though it's a considerable step down from the 'no deal' position.

With the first rounders proposed for Trelour, and Howe still to go, can't see how the Pies will pull a rabbit out of their backsides. Bears either have to bend, or let the PSD sort it out N Stevens style. Can't help but think that Collingwood screwing the Bears over Beams last year is adding to the Mexican standoff.

What are people's thought on,
Brodie Martin from Adelaide, delisted FA.
Sam Kerridge from Adelaide, out of contract, probably 3/4 rounder.
Cal Twomey from AFL website reckons, Jacob Weitering is too good for blues to pass him up.
Reckon Casboult is going no where.
Happy if we pass on Adam Thomlison, will cost to much.
Would like, Plowman and Phillips, not sold on Sumner and Lamb.
Pick 12 for Yarran, after Astbury failed the medical, ball is in our court now, if not he stays, or the Hawks pick 15 for Yarran??
Bell worth pick 21 from lions?? Yep.
This would leave us,
Pick 1, 12/15, 20, 21, 41 and 59.
Pick 1, Weitering lock.
Pick 12/15, draft the best available. Or Yarran stays.
Pick 20, draft the best available.
Pick 21, Plowman and Phillips. Sumner/Lamb part of the deal??
Pick 41, Sam Kerridge.
Pick 59, is there a little gem there?? Pick the best/our needs.
Later picks probably upgrade players.
With Weitering and Plowman coming in, our backline looks better already.
Phillips can take over the hopefully delisted Warnock.
Sam Kerridge plays wing/midfield.
First year of our rebuild looks ok. Have Henderson first rounder for next year, good start.

Jack Silvagni?

I don't think we planned on using pick 40.

Would have almost been my first choice. Rioli, Lovell, Clark as other choices???

All I hope is that Phillips and Lamb are deals on good faith for getting Plomwan and Sumner because it's costing us some ripper trades.

No need to throw in pick 12, GWS would get the points they need off 20 and 21. I'd be pissed if we got 12 and handed it over to GWS. The mooted GWS boys haven't set the world on fire and have struggled to get games. It shits me that Collingwood are picking the cream Adams and Treloar and we're looking for the leftovers and are apparently willing to spend big to get them... I don't get it!!

I want pick 8, going to need pick 12 to get Tomlinson and pick 8 over the line along with 20 & 21.

At this rate I don't think we'll pick anyone. All I'm reading about in the press is Collinwood gets this guy, Collingwood gets that guy, and other teams securing talent.

We've scored some picks!

Quick announce a new slogan - they know what we're cooking, its microwave food!

Makes a wonderful change in mindset, Carlton doing things in a methodical, patient way. Incredible!!!
