Throwing out the baby with the bathwater in the hope we will get everybody we need in one go is a silly approach IMO. This is going to take at least two years of good drafting/trading and a bit of luck with injuries to get us back near the eight or just out and that's if we do it right. It's more likely to go three to four. BB might well try an introduce a Hawks-style gameplan and according to Hodge, it's 'complicated'.

Agree with all of that, and our list of likely 2016 deletions are:

Tutt
Dick
Wood
Rowe
White (if he gets another contract)
Whiley
Lamb
Simpson

Then there's which ever of last year's draftees haven't made the grade. Still plenty of fodder, it's just not as terrible (at least on paper). We'll see if they can have the football intelligence to execute the game plan next season.

Lamb? He isn't even on our list yet

If we get pick 12 from Richmond i wouldn't mind this guy.........

14: Western Bulldogs – Harley Balic
Height: 186cm, Weight: 80kg, DOB: 05/01/1997
Recruited from: Sandringham Dragons
Draft Range: 5-15

A basketball convert with terrific vision and awareness. Has played at mostly half forward but showed this year he will ultimately become a tall midfielder in the Pendlebury mould in time. Has a lovely-timed handball in traffic that releases an outside runner into space. An outstanding mark which is the highlight of his game, kicks some really classy goals, and is an excellent decision maker.

Supposedly only a small chance of making it to 12, but GWS's top 10 picks being consumed on academy players would help.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Some are questioning his pace, disposal and doubt on recovery of wrist injury.

Walker, Casboult and a nifty small forward (drafted? or can Daisy do this?) with either white, everett or jaksch filling in as the third target/ tall is an okay forward line. serviceable, at least.

depth is a problem. it all goes to pieces if casboult is injured and when walker misses his obligatory half-dozen games.

walker is a way above average forward. why mick had him in the backline is a mystery and a waste.

Braithy I think Carlton think that Lamb will be that nifty forward and if we could get Tomlinson
These 2 together with walker Menzel boult Jaksch at least looks like a competitive forward line

If we get a pick in the early 20s we may be able to nab Ah Chee. But as fd said, Lamb could also play the medium/small forward role. Will be interesting to see how Clem develops too. Fitness wise, he lives with Ed Curnow.

Only contracted for next year if we don't re-sign him as part of the trade; he's not very good. Sumner and Plowman have just the one year left on their contracts as well but I have much higher hopes for them if fit.

Think you're way off Jim.

My list of guys at most danger of delisting in 2016

Armfield, Tutt, Dick, Foster and long shots are Whiley, Rowe, maybe Clem.

Assuming Jones signed 3 yrs.

I think Armfield will get a two year deal. Agree that Foster and Clem are the draftees feeling the pinch right now, but Rowe and Whiley are odds on to be gone, particularly Rowe.

Wood is gone if we have any sense; Simpson would likely retire. I don't expect White to be here come the next list deadline, but whether that's trade or otherwise is down to the number of interested parties.

What's wrong with Jayden Foster. Most KPF don't hit their straps until about 22-23 so why the @#$%&! would talk about delisting him now? Surely if you bother drafting him you let him learn and develop for a bit? One year in and people are writing him off - his old man was a player so let's let the DNA do its work before loosing the baby with the bathwater. This clubs been decimated by short term thinking.

Maybe it's his body? I'm just guessing but he came into the club with back issues

Wood is a rookie so I didn't factor him in. I brought Foster up because he has a pretty signficant injury to overcome and won't get a full preseason in.

FWIW Foster's old man was a bit of a slow starter, but went on to be a very good footballer.

Going through his player thread he came in with back issues apparently, not fact, but had an early foot problem, then foot stress reaction by August.

Foot issues among our talls (Kreuzer, Giles, KJ and Foster) is no accident.

... it's an AFL conspiracy. Also Buttifant.

What are people's thought on,
Brodie Martin from Adelaide, delisted FA.
Sam Kerridge from Adelaide, out of contract, probably 3/4 rounder.
Cal Twomey from AFL website reckons, Jacob Weitering is too good for blues to pass him up.
Reckon Casboult is going no where.
Happy if we pass on Adam Thomlison, will cost to much.
Would like, Plowman and Phillips, not sold on Sumner and Lamb.
Pick 12 for Yarran, after Astbury failed the medical, ball is in our court now, if not he stays, or the Hawks pick 15 for Yarran??
Bell worth pick 21 from lions?? Yep.
This would leave us,
Pick 1, 12/15, 20, 21, 41 and 59.
Pick 1, Weitering lock.
Pick 12/15, draft the best available. Or Yarran stays.
Pick 20, draft the best available.
Pick 21, Plowman and Phillips. Sumner/Lamb part of the deal??
Pick 41, Sam Kerridge.
Pick 59, is there a little gem there?? Pick the best/our needs.
Later picks probably upgrade players.
With Weitering and Plowman coming in, our backline looks better already.
Phillips can take over the hopefully delisted Warnock.
Sam Kerridge plays wing/midfield.
First year of our rebuild looks ok. Have Henderson first rounder for next year, good start.
