anyone else heard Gibb's name being put on the trade table?

i know there's a few media guys suggesting if we are going to get real about a list rebuild, two of gibbs, murphy and menzel need to be dealt along with Casboult and anyone else who another team wants.

but seeing as adelaide lost danger, could they enquire about gibbs? would we say no? i know i'd be listening to anything they had to say.

I'd be happy to trade Gibbs if it was for a very good pick.

Menzel I don't want to trade, he's young, has talent and his market value is too low coming off a poor season. I'm sick of trading players at their low point.

As I mentioned in another post Trigger and The Psychologist mentioned last August that they had heard similar.

A poster then on BigFooty said he was talking to someone from Adelaide who said if they can they pull of the deal that gets them #5 and something from St Kilda, (for #9 and #13), they'll then offer #5 and Kerridge to us for "a player.

All friend of a mate, of a neighbour stuff....

harker has mentioned elsewhere that he'd heard that Gibbs is determined to make up for last year, and has even apologised to the playing group for his attitude and effort at times.....

With Simpson now a GWS ruckman it looks like we are stuck with Warnock.

I was hoping Warnock would be the mature ruckman GWS were after for a pick or for Phillips or just to get him off our list.

Damn!!

Warnock will not be at the club next year. We are trying to find someone stupid enough to take him or he will be delisted. Still looks like Phillips and a few other boys from GWS will come to us.
Kerridge could be the steak knives in a deal for Gibbs. Gibbs pick and 2nd rounder traded to GWS for 5 players.

Is Tomlinson on the list, or isn't he? Suspect this largely depends on them holding firm with McCarthy.

Er....what? Not sure where this is from but I don't want five odds and ends from GWS for Gibbs unless one of them is Treloar. But seriously is sounds like BS to me.

Putting Gibbs in a trade hypothetical is just a waste of time.

I know we're short on positives to look forward to over the next few years, but one thing to genuinely look forward to is the Cripps/Gibbs combination.

Cripps feeding it out to Gibbs who uses the ball beautifully.... :smoking:

Okay Dan Richardson on SEN then all but conceded they need to give pick 12 for Yarran, so SOS balls in your court now.

Might as well speculate for a little fun:

Seniors In: Weitering, Plowman, Tomlinson, Sumner, Mayes, Silvagni, pick 31, Kerridge, Byrne, Grimley, PSD pick 1

Seniors Out: Henderson, Judd, Yarran, Warnock, Ellard, Carrazzo, Watson, Giles, Bell, White, Jones (re-rookie)

Rookies In: Pick 1, Jones, Korcheck

Rookies Out: Johnson, Russell (Cat B), Fields, Byrne (elevated)

2016 Team:

FB: Byrne Jamison Weitering
HB: Docherty Plowman Tuohy
C: Buckley Murphy Simpson
HF: Thomas Tomlinson Boekhorst
FF: Menzel Casboult Everitt

RR: Kreuzer Cripps Gibbs

Int: Walker Kerridge Mayes Curnow

Reserves:

FB: Dick Jaksch Smith
HB: Sheehan Rowe Viojo
C: Tutt Walsh Holman
HF: Silvagni Jaksch Armfield
FF: Sumner Grimley Jones

RR: Wood Whiley Graham

Int from: Korcheck, Gowers, Pick 31, Gowers, PSD Pick 1, Rookie Pick 1

Disappointed that we don't have more space to work with on the rookie list, but happier to have Jones there rather than on the senior list, but otherwise happy. Slightly tall in the reserves on face value, but very short in the picked defensive line up.

Medium term, need to turn over our tall defender stocks, narrow down our tall forward stocks and develop a ruckman. Plenty of numbers in the midfield/flank group, just need to sort out the wheat from the chaff. Very happy with the running power and foot skills of the senior side, and the immediate 6-8 outside of the team.

I know this highlights why we're looking at Phillips, but I'd honestly just rookie or PSD a prospect and develop. If we rookie, have Korcheck and Wood battle it out in the pre-season for a nominated rookie slot.

Aside from Wood already being contracted/needing to be promoted. Interested why Byrne not Sheahan? I assume given Sheahan was the category A rookie this year - we can have Byrne on the rookie list as a category A for another year?

He deserves it.
