No I'm actually trying to be a realist. So you bring up Brock. 1 disgruntled player in how many????????

Seriously!!!! 1 player who got his back up. Spare me please. Mr 1% as I said.

Brock did well enough out of CFC and for you to suggest to emtwenty that "it's not the point' is missing the point entirely.

Stick to your 1% and the other 99% can get on with it.

Am I correct in saying Brock would have got one more year but for his own indiscretions?

I'm actually just talking about one person but it is interesting that the new President has cut a swathe through the club in many departments and yet he and new CEO Mr Trigg still have McKay there.

Go figure.

What a bizarre thing to say. Some of those green highlighted name people may occasionally say some strange things, but club apologists?????? And emtwenty????

I think he needs to go and the problems will go away.

I've been saying this for over a year.

So tell us all about the conversations you have been privy to b/t McKay and players, admin staff and player managers.

Look forward to hearing how McKay handles himself in these discussions.

I won't sit here and pretend I am privvy to the goings on within the footy department behind closed doors, but My family and I have a very (very) long and solid connection to the club (almost a centry, in fact) and interestingly enough go waaaayy back with MlG's family as well. I think this affords me the right to express an opinion without being mocked.

I have nothing personal against Andy McKay - who I know loves the club - but to me it is no surprise that our footy department has catagorically been the worst performing and on a downward spiral since he took charge. I've made the point before that I'm not sure exactly how he survives in his position, and just recently seemed to be in charge of his own performance review (!!). SOS's return and his direction has seen McKay improve in his media work, and again this is no surprise - SOS knows how it's done. Perhaps with better people around him, McKay's own performance will improve, but it has been lacking for years and is a major part of the reason we are in the mess we are with the list and our TPP.

I dont know if mckay is good but he is far from the worst. There is a point where the club has to move beyond sacking as the solution to every problem. The Gooch isnt the strongest but i support him because the effort is there and a replacement, absent. Four seasons to turn this around are we going to keep chopping based on results, in the near term?

Well, he has been at the helm of the worst performing footy department in the last 10 years. Granted, the rest of the club wasn't performing.

We've had a shift in CEO, president, head coach, line coaches, head recruiter and a bunch of other changes behind the scenes as well. Heck even our stubborn board has seen a change-up. And yet McKay effectively went unchallenged and, as far as I know, was not independently reviewed. Who does he have naked photos of? ;-)

Perhaps the alternate theory is that he might still be there because without him these past 4 years we might have been even worse.

As you say everyone else has been moved on, why not him?

So you honestly think 1 voice over-rules the Pres and the CEO who have moved on alot of others.

I think you are clutching at straws.

I think McKays heart is in the right place, but he is no Poker player, in fact when he used to play, you know who did all of his talking in negotiations?

Who has been responsible for the management of our salary cap for the last few years?

on the basis of his performance to date why do you think he should stay?

because he is a premiership player?

It's a fair point you make, and I don't know the answer. Not sure how the past 4 years could have been any worse... but... I only know how poorly we performed in the areas he was in charge of. I hope he is still there for the right reasons and hope the club can turn things around. We do appear to be on the right track again - the way we handled the Carlisle situation, the way we've been presenting RE: Yarran and Henderson, the players we've chosen to delist... and I hope our newfound assertiveness forms the basis of a great trade/draft period.
