Last round specialist.

Said the exact same to my mate at the game today! Not sure what his contract situation is but if we can't get rid then we have to play him & see if there is any hint of a player there. If we are able to delist or offload him now then I'm sorry to say it but he's had fair enough chance to make it by now

Contractural situations aside, I would rather have Watson on our list next year than Jones.

Really pissed off with all of Watto's coaches for not giving him more game time over the last 4 years.
He has rotted in the ressies. Whilst he he has deficiencies, FFS, if the ball goes into his hands, he can FLOWERING kick the ball
I'd back him him in to kick 40+ goals at FF next year if he played every game. Every goal he kicks adds more and more more to his greatest deficiency, self doubt.
But hey, the powers at be will probably delist him and we'll never know

So would I. I don't think that Watson has ever had a sustained run in the side; certainly not as many chances as others, anyway.

I feel for Watson in a way, because he is at elite at arguably the most important AFL skill: kicking the ball, but below average in so many other areas of the game.

He executed one long kick today, in the last quarter, where he kicked from half-back to Clem Smith, who was standing in between several Hawks players in the middle of the ground. Most Carlton players wouldn't have even thought to try it, let alone try it and execute it perfectly, as Watson did.

Just isnt AFL. Isnt agile enough. Isnt good enough above his head. You cant be a 50m arc specialist without a tank. He will get run off like no body's business

Watson is a spud. Yeah can take a mark, but is next to useless when the ball is on the ground. The amount of times his opponent ran off him today was laughable.

Had his chance. Gone

Bell might have tried it.

Thank @#$%&! that cauliflower of a season is over.

It hit me tonight how often Bell makes poor decisions when in possession of the ball. He often just blazes away without looking and will kick it to a pack or an opposition player. Yet if he lowered his eyes there would be a player 20-30m away that he could kick short or handball to. He has great endeavour, but he turns the ball over too much for my liking.

Shhhhh.....someone from Brisbane may be reading this.

Better than last time. Really showed up our lack of skills. Simmo has been great but after 12 years be nice if he had ever worked on getting a right foot, and one 20 metre pass under no pressure that landed 3 metres short and caused a turnover goal sort of summed up where we are at. Bell has improved but if he wants out he is not skilled enough to fight over. He never looks when he kicks and just bangs it somewhere forward.

I am a fan of Big K but if after all the games he has missed while we paid big money, we offer him a fair contract and he goes for big bucks elsewhere, so be it.

Holman showed a bit, and can kick. Curnow has fab endurance and is very admirable but his skills are very untidy. I like Watson and think he has really tried hard but he has had years to grab a spot w'out success.

Never been a fan of Ellard but i was super impressed with the way he spoke this week. Utter clubman, saw writing on wall and did what was best for the club. Both he and carrots have the club first attitude i'd love to see in all our players. Jammo is almost gone. Rowe has great character but is just a battler. Glad it is over, with good drafting and luck with injury cd win 8 games next year.

I like Whiley, made if the right stuff, looks like a guitar player with Tamam Shud and has a future.

If K goes i'd love to get #2 but maybe #3 wd be fair. GC certainly can't complain abt draft position and the Lions need as much help as us. This may not be in the rules but AFL make up their own rules

Off season will be interesting. My final word - NO CARLYLE

Despite the score lines, I reckon we weren't beaten up on as much as in the past. While the game wasn't particularly tight in close it was good to see Holman, whiley, bell and Buckley not being bullied. Even smith had a crack.

Against my better judgment went to the game, stayed til the final siren, even sat there while the Hawks song was played. Just to make myself suffer that little bit more and reflect whether I had the heart to sustain more of this shit over the coming years. What a cauliflower of a season. Hate that we finished last. Hate the symbolism of it.

Like in most games this season we had plenty of contested ball, but our kicking and ability to make the correct decision under pressure by hand or foot is woeful, with the exception of Paddy Cripps who has more than a touch of the Greg Williams about him. Thank God for Cripps

Disappointed that we didn't try to hurt Hawthorn physically, especially given what they've dished out to us over the years. Ideal opportunity to do it and to finish the season with a bit of grunt. Pretty soft game from us.

Shouldn't single anyone out, but geez Clem Smith is slow slow slow. For a little guy who you'd expect to have zip off the mark around the packs and accelerating in a straight line, he was run away from on at least two occasions yesterday that I remember. What tools does he actually have? Holman looks like he has something, Whiley doubt it. Watto is likely to get a reprieve due to our ineptitude. Luckiest player on our list but in my view he will never make it.

Keep Andrew Walker at FF next year. Double teamed yesterday with long balls bombed on his head but still looks dangerous.

Blah blah blah. @#$%&! off 2015

Happy to never see Smith or Watson again.
i think the days of 'he might come good'
should be over our club.

Watson has had his time.
Smith, Menzel, BB and Whiley will benefit from a pre season in the gym and pounding the pavement to build up their tanks.

Ended up going.

Got there early to watch the races/Lions game. Got a hot tip from Dipper on a rank outsider at Echuca. Won a grand off it. Can't say a bad word about him.

Geez a bit hard on Smith -needs to work hard and get himself fit but give him a bit of time
Thought the squad with all the outs gave their all much better than the other fixture against Hawthorn

Thought Holman and Whiley looked ok
Cripps a star
Walker needs to play forward
Need an injection of quality talls -must get this over pre-season
One of most important to come on is KJ if he comes on and we get some more quality talls we will be on their way
Need to work on disposal composure and game plan
Warriors like jamo Simpson needed more than ever to nurture new era

Whole team need work ethic of Curnow

Sorry, don't buy that.

He has deficiencies...game plans can always be tweaked to optimise his strengths and mininise his weaknesses.

A line was put through him prematurely IMHO.
