If the club has made a decision and wanted to announce it today I hope they have the good sense to delay the news.

Hird being sakced and the AFL TV deal will attract all the headlines.

Signing a new coach is a good news story and we should try and achieve as much attention as possible.

Agree with Camel. If the club was ready to go, they've probably waited a few days anyway as respect to Ratts and his family.

Midweek on a slow news day would be perfect.

Bomber fans now calling for Bolton....

Bolton not even among the candidates tabled by CrownBet (another indication he's all but ours)...
Simon Lloyd favourite
Perfect fit given the Monga connection...

So marcsmurf on BF said that Essendopes have already been in contact with Bolton. Don't know what happened though.

Was Simon Lloyd told to tank his Carlton interview?

He's the early favourite for the Essendon* job.

I don't think its a coincidence.

Probably as much about Hawthorn appointing the right people in the first place, but yes the pathway is pretty clear.

Doesnt matter who coaches.
Our list is screwed after micks reign.
Who ever is hired will be sacked in 3-5 yrs.
I wouldnt expect miracles. Bulldogs have a good young list, so hard to compare. The coach before got some good young cattle in. Beveridge is reaping the rewards. Adam simpson has a great list.

Carlton doesn't have that talent and we blew every draft pick last yr. Jaksch wouldnt even go 4th round. Whiley would be lucky to be drafted. Liam Jones wouldnt get picked up in the draft and boakhorst would be lucky to be picked in 5th round. Terrible.

I wouldn't be too worried. Bolton having not played at the highest level worries me as that's generally ended in tears.

Bolton's in the Sportsbet market. Backed into 31, was 34 originally.
Interestingly the Carlton new coach market has been 'closed' for two days now.
