Is it any wonder Simon Lloyd is out of the running, when his brain surgeon of a brother Matthew just on air 3AW, and states that Essendon* is in a far better position than Carlton with respect to their list.

You are a tool Matthew "Monga" Lloyd, and without wanting to insult the intelligence of your father John, the apples haven't so much fallen far from the tree rather have fallen into a looney bin.

If he gets it I'd like to see George R.R Martin write the press release:

Carlton names Bolton Ward of the North(ern suburbs)
(also Ikon Park shall henceforth be known as "The Dreadfort" and the CFC insignia will be replaced by that of a "Flayed Man").

If we appoint Bolton then we should be adamant he starts immediately. We should be doing things in our best interests.

If Bolton is the best man for the job and has expressed a desire to coach out the season with Hawthorn before coming across, then I'd suggest it would be in our best interests to not piss him off and to allow him to do that.

Thats not how its done. Previous appointees who were given a senior job also stayed at their clubs until the season was over.

Given the current circumstances at Hawthorn, I'd be more than happy for him to fulfill his commitments to them.

Assuming this appointment is true, how much do you reckon Bolton and Clarkson would talk about what needs to be done?

How is it that the club still seems to leak like a sieve. There are only 4 guys on the panel, surely they can keep things to themselves until it is finalised. Maybe they have and various media clowns are flying kites. I am happy if we have followed a clear process, but Bolton just doesn't come across as an authoritative guy. Still, has others have said, a few weeks with us will wipe the smile off his face.

I am sort of hoping it will be Don Pyke, smart, wide ranging experience. But i'll bow to the process.

Lol, last week the leak was Barker being a monty for the role from a well credentialed insider.

Clarkson?

The guy who put 4 guys back so Fev couldn't kick a 100 goals.
The guy who threatens junior footy umps.

He'll give Bolton @#$%&! all.

Could be a case of some seeking attention nobody at the club just making shit up.

I guess that is fair enough. But I would imagine he would have to spend time either at the club or with Carlton people making decisions such as list management. There are a lot of out of contract players who would also like to know what their future is.
It will be hard for him to concentrate on both jobs.

Don't think this is a case of leaking, if the reports are true.
Any journalist just watches him emerge from Princes Park and they'll know whether he was offered the role or not.
A poker player, Bolton is not.
