When we put a line in the sand and drop Yarran and Menzel which could lead to them leaving, it is great coaching but when we trade Robinson and Garlett to change our culture it is poor coaching management. Garlett, Robinson and Waite are not great footballers. Betts and Jacobs are a loss. Betts this year is worth a couple of wins. Our problems run so much deeper than losing the 5 players you listed

"Carlton is killing me. I have to get more involved with Cruz Azul (Mexican Soccer club)"

After 55 off years of barracking, going, winning, losing, being a member and supporting them through the post salary cap years by getting my friends to join up and keep the joint afloat, I'm just about exhausted.

I've had a few off years too but not that many...

Haha. Type. Read. Correct. THEN post.

@CarltonFC: Barker: "I think our supporters know where we're at, too. We need to build under our core group."

And that core group will be recruited over the next 5 years

You all bag the club as much as you want, they aren't as stupid as you all want them to be.

How stupid are they?

The coach may conceivably be following orders but I wouldn't think the conspiracy spreads as far as the entire playing group. Do you?

Honestly, 2 years ago we played in the second week is September. How'd they go backwards so quickly?

Heads must roll

Discarding about half of those players for zero compensation? That should do it

And we'll also be losing Hendo, Yarran and maybe Menzel.... So we can get draft picks and pick the eyes out a weak draft.... This is going to end well.

That's dooms day thinking, but we haven't seen the worst yet. That is a scary thought.

Surely, the Board must be replaced now

You have to wonder if the AFL are concerned about Carlton right now.
At least we wont have to hand over money to successful clubs under this equalization funding.
It is going to get worse before it gets better, and I am also worried that are now beyond repair and there is no coming back from this.
Free agency is just another hurdle that the bottom clubs have to over come thanks to the Player's Association.
Sponsors will drop off, one is apparently ending its sponsorship with us at the end of the year.
We have a large debt, falling membership and crowds and on field we are a rabble.
I pity the next coach, it will a short career after we have finished with him.

I love Juddy, hindsights a wonderful thing but if we could have kept Kennedy and got Juddy too things may have been a little different.

My plan was to watch the game and go back to bed after the sun came up and have a sleep before breakfast. waste of time. I might as well get to work in the garden before it gets too hot. No way I could relax enough to sleep.

I ask myself every week why I put myself through this and I can't come up with a rational answer.

My step mum is a mad Doggies supporter. Buys membership tickets for her grandchildren every year and they are all grown up now and as mad as she is about their club.

They haven't won a flag for 61 years. And that's the only one!

How do they maintain the passion?

That's weak. Just because we have "deeper problems" in your opinion doesn't make the point we have thrown away good players less valid. We are worse off without them. Getting rid of them hasn't been a positive for the club by any stretch of the imagination.

We don't have too, we could trade for picks in next year's draft.

Get a grip. New system, new coach, new draft picks.....it can all change quickly. Look at Bullies.

I'm tipping you're a glass half empty kinda guy ?

And you don't reckon the players know the coach is following orders?

Or that their coach probably won't be there next year. They are dispirited, distracted and despondent.
They are going through the motions, playing out time till the end of the year.

How were the WB's travelling toward the end of 2014?

Not saying we'll make the same rate of improvement (cause their list is superior), but a fresh start with certainty about their coach and their futures will make a significant difference to on field performance
