Ladder predictor on AFL website says if Lions win by 30 they jump us on %. 12 points wasn't enough and there's no in-between option.

The Extra FA pick will be cancelled out by recruiting Suclkling via FA

With the AFL High Commission of Jiggery Pokery there is always a chance of Brisbane getting pick 1 & 2. Whether through FA compo or asking for a priority pick if the AFL want it, they will make it happen. You only have to see the recent COLA phone call for the nudge and wink of how the AFL said to use the extra cash, then further bullshit rules once the Swans pissed of Fitzy.

The AFL love to Hopoate their own rules to achieve an outcome, then proceed to sniff their finger in gleeful merriment. Mmmm. Success.

All that, we could lose because we are terrible. Truly at a new nadir.

Didn't someone say on here a while back that McKay firmly believed we'd get top banding compo if Kreuzer left?

a) Has this changed
b) Are we not keen on a top 4 pick for Kreuzer?

I'm not sure if you're referring to my post but I have said earlier in the year that Sos thought we could get band 1 compo for him and was keen to let him go. But that was before he came back from injury and showed his importance. Kreuz will be signed shortly.

I'm going to change that 'will be' to 'should be' as I was told that 2 weeks ago an announcement was coming but nothing yet.

Kruezer is a good bloke, good player and our only decent ruck. He sets a great example and gives his all.

Keep him.

Exactly. I think he is a good ruckman but nothing special. The fact is he is a heart and soul player like Simpson so he needs to be kept.

No doubting that, but if you could get band 1 considering his issues over the last 3 or 4 years. I'd rather the club consider what's best for the future.

Tend to agree. Heart and soul player who lives and breathes Blue.
Rare commodity.

If they get a FA pick for Leuenberger that lands them #1 & 2 picks, they won't throw it away on Suckling. They'll trade for him or let him slip through to the PSD where they get him anyway.
But they won't get one.
Even the AFL knows Leuey isn't worth #2 in compo.

They won't trade if the Hawks get a better deal via free agency. Also I would've thought its draft tampering?

Stefan Martin wanting to come back to Melbourne might be our big win. They can't lose Leunenberger also.

Can we pay a portion of Stefan Martin's contract with the Dogs?

Like to see Jaksch forward as he looked okay there last week.

With Wood & Casboult out I believe he will play in defence with Rowe up forward as second ruck.

The bonus of for Jaksch this week is the Lions forwards are young and not yet big bodied. Good opportunity for him.

We are definitely a more mobile side this week.

So, are we playing tonight? You wouldnt have thought so with no posts since early this morning.
Hoping the kids play well and no injuries.
