All three of last year's 'pick 7' players running around.

I know its embarrasing but can't help but hope we lose. I want the number one pick.
Sorry but we need the best new talent.

Picks 1 to 3 are often a toss of the coin. You're going to have some serious talent available at that end of the draft. Our problem is we either stuff up the pick or don't put in the required development. So I'd be happy with a win.

The strong lure of pick 1 is that if lions finish last and somehow obtain an extra 1st round FA pick for Leuenberger (and let's face it, considering the lack of integrity with the AFL this would be a quick win to give footy in QLD a leg up ) then we'd miss out on one of the best two players in this year's draft

Wht happens if both Leuenberger AND Kreuzer are up for trade?

We would surely get pick 4 if Kreuzer goes onto the free market?

Leuenberger can't even get a game when fit, and is a second choice behind Martin.

If it eventuated that way, it would be the ultimate test of the compensation process.

Would be the dumbest of stupid moves to trade K. Now.
Weve nurtured him through injury..there is no one better..he is still young.
We must keep him and reap the rewards.

I don't know why he gets mentioned. Not going anywhere

Now I'm confused, didn't you say 12 months ago that none of our ruckmen are any good and we should get rid of them all?

Yes and I stand by it. Personally if the right deal came for Kruezer I would do it but the club wants Kruezer to stay and he is staying. Really not that confusing.

Didn't someone say on here a while back that McKay firmly believed we'd get top banding compo if Kreuzer left?

a) Has this changed
b) Are we not keen on a top 4 pick for Kreuzer?

I'm not sure if you're referring to my post but I have said earlier in the year that Sos thought we could get band 1 compo for him and was keen to let him go. But that was before he came back from injury and showed his importance. Kreuz will be signed shortly.

I personally would let him go if band 1 was achievable. History tells us he'll break down again at some point. Love the big fella but from where we're sitting, tough calls need to be made.

A lot of people are taken with the magic of first pick in the draft. Have a look back the last 16 years. There are players still playing forma ll those drafts. How often has the #1 been clearly the best player from that draft. Riewoldt.....not too many others come to mind. 1, 2 or 3 we will get top quality if we are smart.

And we won't need to tank anyway, one of the weakest line ups we have ever fileded and the Lions are playing okay.

For the good of the club, lets hope we lose tomorrow and lose big for percentage purposes.

We must finish below Brisbance coz they will be getting an extra pick...wait and see!
