It would be silly to not have an open mind to every deal possible. If Josh Walker cost us a very late pick and it meant Jones was off the list, I would jump at it.

Aish would be a great pick up if it costs us a 2nd rounder. If he was in the draft this year and lasted to our 2nd pick you would take him every time. Even a late 1st rounder.

Seems like everyone thinks Jones will be off the list.

We are stuck with him until his deal ends, unless someone else wants him---- reckon that will happen.

You cannot simply sack a guy on a contract because he wasn't as good as what you thought he would be.

Yes you can. He simply gets paid out.

That or..

He gets delisted and re-listed as a rookie.

He is apart of a trade to take him off our hands.

I think Jones will still be on our primary list in 2016.

Which will make our list look pretty secondary.

Absolutely , our second rounder pick 20 for Aish is good drafting and we'ed be negligent if we don't persue it.
Also if the Carlisle noise is true , then do that deal too , a player swap or PSD for nicks.
Both excellent acquisition in a new environment we may be lucky these are two quality young players.

If we're going to trade Henderson not only will Jones be on the list, but he'll probably be playing more regularly too. :yikes:

There is a real chance that Carlisle will be banned next year, perhaps longer.
Would we want him if he was going to be unavailable for two years?
Do we really want to take that weight away from Drugsdon? and lighten their load?

We would be doing them a favour by taking a banned player off their books.. wouldnt we?

If he gets a year off, it might be ok. not longer though

You can, you just pay him out.

We're coming off a very low base so we wouldn't look that stupid.

If we lose to lions this week we can take Aish in the PSD

I'd rather trade for Aish if simply must have him, and take Dixon if he's supposedly trying to move via that draft.

Landing Aish and Dixon would be a very good outcome indeed, and
of course if we could somehow mange Carlisle too , we'd be set for the next 8 to 10 years.
We need luck, a well co-ordinate recruitment approch , a strong coach and support team And just maybe it's achievable.

Yep ... go to agree ... Draft Picks only! Can we get rid of Jones this year ... pay him out. He is filling a spot and will not make it now. Should never have come to the club. Sorry Liam.

If we can't then we should try him as a defender, he didn't look horrible down there last week.... took a few good marks. Probably go better than Rowe down there not that that is saying much.

Even if bombers found guilty they would be lucky to miss more than 1-4 games. Just all about wada winning not the players getting penalised

I would really know who's idea it was to recruit Jones, who decided on a 3 year deal and who agreed to pick 46. It is easily the dumbest deal I have ever seen. Even at the time everybody knew it except Carlton. It is not even a question if he will make it, he is not even close to being an AFL player.

It just defies logic.

Is anyone ever going to take responsibility?

We'd need several other clubs to voluntarily submit to lobotomies.

im utterly and completely convinced that the bloke who was our recruiter who left just after the draft last year made selections knowing he was going to go and was trying to @#$%&! us over as much as possible.

boekhurst at 19, jones for pick 46, tutt ....

its the only thing that makes any sense, someone who was trying to stitch us up did so very successfully IMO.
