'Draft picks only' is just a load of rubbish. The Docherty deal was a steal at the time and a broad 'draft picks only' policy rules out another deal like that happening again. If we can land Aish for the right price (IMO a second round pick) then we'd be fools not to jump at the deal.

Draft picks especially in year one of a rebuild needs to be the focus. If there is a Docherty deal available you do it. In the end it's about getting the best young talent into the club for the right value. Aish for a second pick is a good example.

There's no such thing as a first year of a rebuild.
What's year one of a rebuild actually mean?

These terms mean nothing.
Anybody that buys into them at this stage obviously doesn't understand jack..
What year of a rebuild are we in and what year is hawthorn in?

No issues with the club going to the draft getting youth.
But my fear is we don't have the battering rams to take the heat of the kids when they come in.
Club lacks mongrel
I liked the way GWS went about it. The brought in some hard nuts like cornes brogan and Macdonald to at least make sure their kids weren't beat up each week.
One of the problems we have had for years now and this goes right back to drafting Murphy. Is every kid we bring in becomes cannon fodder .
Get kids but also find some tough bastards to protect them whilst they develop

Surely the quality of the character of the player plus obviously an ability to play, is more important than where or how he came to the club.

I think the jones rectmt and the inability of KJ to get a game even when we have barely enough players to field a team, along with two picks for warnock#11 for mclean etc makes us all nervous. Aish has talent, does he want to go home to SA? Is he intense? How come he can't get a game for the Lions? What do we have to give up for him.

Every team that is not capable of a flag this year is building, we just have a hell of a lot more building to do than most sides.

We got the Docherty deal right, partly because the lions were forced into a fire sale, but when we get a deal right it seems more god luck than anything, because we so rarely win on deals.

It depends on the price. I wouldnt know jed lamb or walker from a bar of soap. The sun gives half the picture. If walker is involved i would join the dots and assume the deal would be for henderson and menzel for pick 10, 28 and walker

Get Soap.

(He's pretty slippery, has clean skills, and sets the bar pretty high. Been showered with praise so far. Do it!)

Warnock and McLean were absolute shockers.

KJ will play 200 games for us.

Whispers in August not much credence put on them

Last week Carlisle was absolutely coming today in paper he is staying at Bummers

Let's relax and wait to see what unfolds in October

We are going young in trades or in the draft so what's the problem

A big Melbourne club? Well that rules us out unless he can time travel.
