I have never heard of this booeing players for being soft thing. Think it has just been made up.
When i see a soft player it is more a " short armed that one Pendlebury" or " lazy soft effort on the wing Heppell" but booing makes no sense so i believe it has just been made up overnight to cover for Collingwood fans being a bit brain dead.

I hate this idea that Murphy is soft. No one gets beaten around more than him. Don't see Harvey etc going in like Murphy does. And keeps getting up . Especially for his size .

Nothing to do with a soft free or 2 on the day. Happens all the time. We just don't like him.

Why?
He is not a dirty player who runs around sniping.
Funny that the booing only started after he received a free kick. Must have been a coincidence and they suddenly remembered that they didnt like Murph.

Oh, spare me. I know you go to all the games. Don't pretend this is the first time you've heard an opposition crowd boo Marc. I certainly know it wasn't mine.

Personally for me, I think he's soft. That's basically it. Captaincy is an honour that only 18 blokes at any given time get. It's something that should be earned and valued. And people don't like when it's handed to weak people who don't deserve it. Like Marc. And I've read enough on this board to know lots of Carlton supporters don't agree with the nod to him either.

Maybe search the words "Nick" and "Maxwell" on this board and you'll find many of your supporters felt the same way about him. To be honest, so did I. For a long time. But over the years I was made to eat humble pie. None more so than when he became a premiership captain. That didn't change the attitude for many outside the club. But who cares?

Really, the question is, why do you care so much if opposition supporters don't like your captain?

Yes, I do go each week and Murphy doesnt usually get booed. That is why I was surprised.
We each have our opinion and if Collingwood has now decided to boo Murphy because he is a soft captain then so be it. I dont really care, I was just curious. Did I say I cared?
If you decide to boo Murphy because you don't think he deserved the captaincy I find it curious why you would care.
I guess Judd isnt there now to boo so they decided to turn their attention to Murphy. By the way do you think Judd deserved the captaincy and is this the reason why he was booed each week?

Full credit to the supporter who asked LoGiudice, on stage at the Social Club function, if the Board would be reviewed at the end of the year.

From what I've seen this year Murphy has been smashed by opposition sides, from pillar to post, this was especially evident in the Richmond game, the targeting was bordering on the disgraceful.

With little or no protection from his team mates (we should be used to that over the past 10 years), and scant protection from the umpires.

He has been guilty in the past of playing for free kicks, but I have to say he rarely protests or whinges when he doesn't receive them, he just picks himself up and plays on.

There are plenty of players in the AFL who deserve booing, in particular the player who now cannot be named  , who had deserved this wrath by going in "studs up" for the latter part of his crusading career  .

Not going to try and fathom why the IQ deficient Filth Supporters chose to direct their booing in Murphys direction.

Dont you know AGRO? He is booed because we have a soft captain and his name should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Maxwell.
I for one wouldnt have thought that their IQ's would be high enough to work that out.

He stumbled around with his response after the crowed "ooed" at the question. He mentioned the Independent Nominations Committee.
He finally, unconvincingly, said the Board would be reviewed. Presumably they will review themselves.
At least he would have got the message that supporters are unhappy with them if he didn't realise that already.

ouch!!!
I'm scratching my brain to fathom why a club would boo another club's captain cos he is soft?
You'd think they'd be rapted about that.

No, I don't think he did. What exactly had he done prior to 2008, for your football club, to "deserve" the captaincy? He was hardly a great leader at West Coast and got the gig in name only for PR reasons. My feelings really have little to do with Judd or Carlton. It just doesn't sit well with me when other blokes who have busted a gut for their clubs get over looked to lure big names across.

Maybe that's partly why he was booed every week. Lots of people didn't like Judd for lots of reasons. Lots of people didn't like Buckley, Hird or Voss for lots of reasons. All 4 bloody good footballers. But also all 4 very unlikeable to opposition supporters.

Anyway, I'll let you all get back to your Mensa conference and I'll take my opinions and go back to my sheltered workshop. Clearly I am no match for the brains trust that is Talking Carlton.

Not soft, but does like to play for a free or two. Or three.

We didn't have a leader at Carlton. That is why Judd got the captaincy as soon as he came in. Alternatives were Stevo and Fev. In other words we had no alternatives.

Judd got booed by Collingwood supporters because he chose us rather than them. It was that simple. He was seen as a traitor. Even Eddie snarled at the mention of Judd for a few years.

To be honest unless a oppo player belts one of our guys during the game i am not inteested enough in them to boo. I don't get why supporers would bother. The great thing about footy barracking has been that supporters sit anywhere and barrack individually. And if it is in unison it is spontaneous like yelling "BALL" . Supporters get angry at the umpire for a decision and move on. I am interested in Carlton, all i noticed about C'wd was Swan getting the ball a million times. I didn't feel moved to boo him but i did wonder who was supposed to be on him.
