Always like to see the level of effort when names are dropped for lack of it, as it shows to me how much is a problem with the club or the individuals concerned.

I was satisfied with the response.

Everitt - i will take 4 to the bank everyday of the week
Kreuzer- a mav truck
Smith- too many non afl qualities. Pick 61
Buckley- too small for the backline. I would like a 4 week trial forward of centre
Cripps- can reserve space on our honour boards
Bokeheurst- shows afl skills and mansfield 3rds fitness levels
Whiley- great endeavour but is a list clogger because he can not run and spread
Holman needs to be told to run and carry because he his handballing to senior players who are slow and poor finishers
Carazzo, curnow, rowe, jamison, thouey are a combination or one of slow and poor disposers

C'mon? Thouey has been very good for a number of weeks and did little wrong today. Agree with pretty much everything else though. Do you think he's slow or poor disposal?

Yes, thought it was MJ's best post for a long time.....apart from the 2E bit.

And he is doing all this with no support at age 32. Deserves an all Australian Guernsey

Today he was slow. This season good. We can not move forward with 3 slows in the backline. Thouey is a keeper and Rowe and Jamison need to be put out to pasture

Cripps and Murphy stood out for us. I thought Crips was better because he didn't waste the footy. Murphy overused it in the first half especially and I don't think he hit a lead up target all night. Fantastic endeavour though.
Pendlebury to Cripps says everything about where Cripps is heading.
Those calling for Everitt to go must have something or somebody pretty good in mind to replace him.
Bell is a rough diamond and will keep improving. He missed an easy goal tonight and kneed one through. Could easily have had his couple.
Buckley worries me in the BP. He goes at it and has a lot of pace but when he makes a mistake, like Touhy it is usually costly. I would like to see him a bit further up the field and I would play Touhy in the midfield. he's probably our best kick and would be a goal kicking midfielder.
Hendo had a few quality touches but nowhere near enough. It looked like he was interested tonight but I couldn't work out if he was forward or back half the time. I like him as a back. He took a nice contested mark down back and can steady them down. If we persevere with Levi and Everitt up front and maybe Walker, Hendo can play at CHB if he even stays.
The rest were pretty even. Holman did a couple of good things and may well be our next best kick of the footy after Murphy. He needs to use it more while they don't respect him and let him have an extra metre of space.
Simmo had another serviceable game and I can't imagine who will eventually replace him.

I am happy with the result. They had a go, even if they overused it and at this stage an honourable loss is better for the draft than a win and it is also better for morale than a flogging.

I thought Barker might get the gig after about three weeks but now I'm not sure he's up to it unless he's been told to lose.

We have something to work with when you look at the few kids coming through. Put Gibbs (on song) and co. back into that team plus a decent trade and we're jumping a couple of spots at least next year.

Elite disposal and decision maker.

Elite decision maker,,14 seasons and he still hasn't developed a right side, yet still calls for the ball when his only way out of a situation is on his right side.

Elite disposal, he is almost Carrazzoesque in his ability to miss targets at critical moments, the draw against Essendon* springs to mind, and his goal kicking is deplorable.

His run and carry was good, but isn't anymore and when he was at his peak about 4 years ago, it may have been touching elite, barely.

But if you rate Simpson elite now you are as deluded and your standards are very low.

Now do something constructive with your evening and turn it to FoxFooty 504 and bring the Brisbsne Lions home.

Cripps - was it 5 straight centre clearances in the last?
Happy with the better showing today but still can't tell if we are supposed to win or not.

When Pendles went to Cripps and was blocking/holding him at one stage after a goal, Cripps did some sort of blind turn and left Pendles standing by himself while Cripps went to the contest and got the ball for another clearance. Mind bogglingly easy.

According to the commentators, at one stage he had 21 disposals at 100% efficiency. His next went across goal straight to a Carlton player's chest.

Went to both games. Have always loved playing Collingwood at MCG, going early watched the reserves then the seniors. Fond memories. Until today, we are sinking lower and lower

My observations

Northern Blues jumper sucks. Play in Carlton jumper and become Carlton in 2016.
Nothing to really get excited about in NB's. Bailey Rice did a couple of things but who knows.
Rest were pathetic. Nothing pushing for a spot. Jaksch as a forward in last qtr looked okay
Yarran disinterested. Menzel skilful in space, lacks true football nouse under pressure.

Cripps just keeps working. Never gives up. Great attitude for AFL
How can we select two players like BB & Smith who are nowhere near fit for AFL. Barker had to hide them in last half in pockets. Wouldn't get on most lists with those fitness levels.
Kruezer tries as does Simpson & Docherty.
Credit to Murphy as he works his backside off
Why is White on the ball/tagging? Makes no sense
Have to be the worst kicking side I have seen. On top of that we kick backwards all the time. How about trying to take the game on?
Bell would be a star if he could kick or had some awareness
Holman showed a bit as did Whiley when he came on.
Collingwood have a lot more talent but are playing just as badly. Gameplan is ordinary

Trying to look for positives but reality is we are so far off being a good side it is scary.

Anyone know Cripps stats for today ?
He was amazing particularly in the middle in the last term...
Murph put in another Captains effort...
Again, our decision making and crappy skill level let us down time and time again...
That and the over handballing...
Clem, BB, Whiley and Holman need to develop their tanks over the off season...
Love Bell;s effort, but boy of boy does he let himself and the team down sometimes...

Particularly amazing given he was cooked early in the last term

Neither do I. Some Carlton people are actually happy with today.

Just shows what a basketcase we have become.

Racism? Murphy hit Blair in the guts early and he went down

There was lots of booing today. More to do with the standrard IMO. No one comments about it
