this is another insight into his character and desire to reshape our playing standards
there wouldn't be a great opportunity for barker to prove himself as a future mentor and leader and for the club to evaluate him on how he handles himself against the biggest challenge he could face against the best standover team of the competition
the outcome doesn’t matter as much as the fight for cultural change and character in this instance

Jaksch has been in better form than Jones and has more potential & upside going fwd

Jones' workrate was good last week and Jaksch was pretty sore with an arm injury so its a smart selection IMHO.
He might step up. Here's hoping.

Dick has been in good form for a month, Jones had a patchy two-goal game. It's better than taking in an injured player or exposing Foster to his first game, but did we need to go tall?

I'm going with BV on this one.

The MC know where the players are at and what they have achieved...and not achieved in the reserves.

They are possibly giving Jones another go to see if he's improved or to confirm his deficiencies to work on in the preseason.
I think he'll get 2 games and if he doesnt perform then it may be Jaksch time in the forwardline.

I'm expecting Jaksch to break into the side before the season is out.
A rest this weekend is maybe what he needs.
