There has been a bit of gossip on the 3AW rumour file that a 3AW panellist has been approached for the job. Bomber Thompson and Cameron Ling are the only ones I could think of. Another rumour is a team of Ratten and Neil Craig.

Ling might have been invited to apply, doubt anyone has been given the job.

Craig is being targeted for Buttifant's replacement not coaching panel.

Really? That was what had everyone raving about his tenure at Adelaide in the early days. Started the mass spend by the richer football clubs that saw the AFL bring in the FD super tax.

I'm surprised 3aw didn't pick it up given scoop McClure reported the Craig interest a few weeks back.

Sam McClure tells us Simon Lloyd continues to be man named when the Carlton coaching job is mentioned.
Simon Lloyd - he's young, a great communicator with both players and footy depts and he's in a successful model (Freo) at the moment.

Seems like the morning show and the evening show are having a public misalignment

Well you may also not know that he is renowned in some circles for flogging his players and hence overtraining.

Remember when the Crows would have their mid season slumps under Craig? This was often said to be due to the periodisation of training leading into the finals i.e. huge volume of training mid season, a bit like another mini preseason. As a result some games were lost with theory was that they would fitter than all others on the last day....you had to get there first.
