If we broke into the command centre at IKON Park where SOS is designing our master list rebuilding strategy, what's the chance we'd find a room entirely empty, except for a whiteboard on which is written in spidery but precise handwriting......

"Get Carlisle".

Has SOS heard of WADA?

I think that's why it's the psd route. Not risking a lot except salary cap space.

The CAS hearing will be done before then, so we'll know if he's worth the pick.

Why do we need the CAS hearing to determine anything? I wouldn't take him even for nothing. A really shit player imo. In the same class as Schoenmakers. That is a complete dud...

Has Carlisle shown anything?....in any game?...I really can't recall any game in which he's played well.
Schoenmakers has had the odd good game.

This guy has more hype around him than just bout any other player

Carlisle is a gun and someone you can put at CHB and build your defence around.
He can also be a commanding and powerfull forward.
Laughable that people on here think the sun shines out of Hendo's you no what and that Carlisle is a dud.
Hendo is half the player Carlisle is.

Hendo can't take a pack mark forward and has no presence what so ever.
I do agree that Hendo is a better Backmen than forward.
Most overated player we have.

Carlisle was in All Australian contention at CHB just 2 years ago.

Get Carlisle

I think the truth is somewhere between deano35 and moshe25.

And in 2018, Carlisle will once again be eligible to play Division 1 in the EDFL.

Carlisle is an okay player who sulks when he doesn't get to play where he likes and is yet another unreliable kick. Hendo is a better leader works harder and can be an xlt chb if played there. How many trades do we need to get wrong? we need to get guys from the draft. In February various pposters were telling us how great the beast Jones was going to be and what a steal he was. Let's see how many guys drafted after the pick we swapped for him turn into much better players than him. I doubt anyone here as watched Carlisle closely. I certainly have no interest in Essendon* games unless they are getting badly beaten. Carlisle has some talent but he is certainly and absolutely not a gun. And after the debacle with Daisy the last thing we need is another overpaid recruit who fails to deliver. Admittedly Daisy was a star but he is a shadow of that player, unfortuanetly he is on star dollars and Carlisle will go where the money is. If we get him I am sure this time next year we will be calling for SOS's head.

Carlisle played one good game, when he out marked a bunch of midgets playing for the WB. Other than that, when has he EVER shown anything??

Good step ladder, that's about it.

I go on about Rioli being overrated, but at least he can play - just not as good as McAvaney and his ejaculating friends make out.

But Carlisle?? Nothing. Can't kick, takes an occasional ok mark against 5 ft 7 players, and cracks the sads way too often.

Comparing him to Hendo is laughable.

like hendo, carlisle is much better in defense, and like hendo they're both being played out of position.

carlisle is taller with a better tank and runs a better beep than hendo. hendo is stronger in a contest and reads the game better from the back.

if we lost henderson to geelong as everyone keeps saying we are, and with jamisons super obvious decline combined with whoever traded for jaksch severely overrating jaksch we'll be in the market for an already capable big body to anchor our defense.

if whoever takes over as coach doesn't get stars in their eyes and think carlisle is our next great full forward and plays him to anchor our defense, i wouldn't be opposed to getting him, because the honest truth is:

carlisle (and shoenmakers for that matter) is better than a broken down jamison and is a better footy player than rowe and white combined and has genuine size, footspeed adn tank to take their best forward.

is saying all of that though ... there's only one bomber i'd take on our list and that's another guy who's contract is up and that's Cale Hooker.

that guy could and should be every bit as good as rance. a proper difference maker at the back is what we really need, and hooker would fit that bill.

- The umpires. Just left me speechless.
- Jamo. Injured. Again.
- Grigg making us look like chumps. But I agree with Navy One - I don't think he will ever win a flag.
- People focusing on how much nicer Barker is than Malthouse in press conferences when we lose. I would rather win, so we don't have to flowering worry about what the coach says to the media when we are losing.

I know is now hindsight but given Jamo was off injured in first minute ,gibbs gets season ending injury in third and dennis breaks his arm in the third quarter really never going to win this game
Its been a crap year and we cant take a trick with injuries

Long term Injuries to Judd Kreuz Gibbs (a bull ---- suspension too) jamo when you are short on talent really is a recipe for disaster - I know all clubs get injuries but with such thin talent base it really hurts you doubly as much
