Surely will appoint an interim coach and then appoint for the long term at seasons end. They've lost Walsh & we've lost Malthouse. Obviously the circumstances are different, but in terms of needing a replacement they're no different to us.

Given how recently they've just undertaken a search for a coach you'd think they'd have a pretty good idea of who their leading candidates are too.

I don't think McKay is under threat.

I am all for an open and clear process without fear or favour, but I really hope Simon Lloyd is not the successful candidate. I have his old man's autograph in my book from about 1968 but I am afraid Matthew Lloyd is a very bad advertisement for his family.

I actually don't mind Matthew Lloyd all that much in the media, he's pretty honest. A side from the fact the he has a bias towards Essendon*, he normally tells it how it is. After reading Emma Quale's article on Simon Lloyd, sounds like there are some similarities between Ross Lyon and Lloyds approach.

He was pretty strong in saying he wouldn't be leaving Hawthorn.

I don't reckon he's on our radar.

...then go and ask the crows who was their #2 preference, and give the job to him.

Or just give it to Barker, seems like a friendly happy go lucky type of guy.

Would mick be a good fit at adelaide? We could release him from his contract and save a few dollars. Mick gets another chance at finals. At the very least he would be a safe hands type of interim appointment.
He has a regular radio spot in adelaide, he is a "known". Not sure that eddie b would be over the moon...but shite happens
