Pity Byrne is injured.

Might have been nice to see him on Easton wood as a defensive forward.

Both fantastic players and both already subjected to the hard tag from the opposition. Not bad for a couple of teenagers who are still 2-3 years away from hitting their peak when their core strength and aerobic capacity catches up with their prodigious talent.

This is a genuine toss of the coin job - you blokes have improved out of sight the last 3 weeks, especially in defensive intensity and much quicker ball movement. We are going just ok - no better than you guys the last month. Have to keep reminding myself that we have 5 teenagers running around and 11 players under 50 games, so 'ugly' wins like we had on Saturday should be cherished just as much as the better wins. We are miles ahead of where I thought we'd be in 2015 to date - I guess I underestimated the impact that having a coach who knows what the hell he's doing can do in a short space of time. BMac didn't rate Wood and Johanniessen but loved Mark Austin - says it all really

Get stuck in to your supporters Sedat, need 40k there!!

it could happen but I dont think so ,we should play ARMY on WOOD or MURPHY make either accountable .I think we will win our forward line has height and the doggies backline is quite small .
Either way it will be a great game

What's wrong with doc?

I heard Dean laidley mention pre game that it takes alot for doc to get up week to week.
FWIW i went to an auskick clinic run by carlton and the only players that didn't attend were Menz and Docherty.

If that was today Menzel was 100% there.

Well he must have made a very very quick exit coz my son got every player to sign his jumper and Menzel,Docherty and Boakhurst are not on it.

I wonder how Boakhurst signs his name.

That's a big loss for us. Is Walker any chance of returning this week?

Docherty's not on the Carlton injury list. Just Menzel and Carrazzo from last week's game.

http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/2015-0 ... e-round-14

Injury List:

Byrne (hamstring) test
Carrazzo (toe) test
Giles (foot) indefinite
Judd (knee) retired
Menzel (knee) test
Sheehan (groin) 7 weeks
Thomas (shoulder) season
Walker (knee) test
Warnock (shoulder) season

As I understood it, a rookie could only be elevated for an LTI that will keep them out for 8 weeks or longer at the time of the elevation.

If that's the case, we've missed the boat on Sheehan's injury.

Boyd is pushed off the ball easier than anyone in the league for his size.....so I reckon Rowe should be able to handle him.
White has to go with "the package" but I reckon he can do it.
We have to shut down Murphy..... Come on down Dennis!
Easton Wood needs to think twice about dropping back in the hole...... Time for Levi to legitimately smash someone..... Or Wood/Kruez for that matter

We still haven't nominated a mid season rookie elevation have we? If not, then that opportunity is still available to us. I'd suggest the club just don't have much interest in elevating anyone.

One being the operative word with that rule I think

If it's the injury duration has to be longer than 8 weeks we're fine, but if it's 8 weeks left on the LTI at the time of elevation, that opportunity has passed, and it means we have 4 rookie elevations possible, maybe 5 with Giles' current status.

Sheehan was put on the LTI weeks ago so a rookie can still be upgraded for him - only issue is the 8 weeks will end from date Sheehan was put on LTI.

Is there still a point to having rookie lists?

Just have a list of 44 and let everyone play.

It strikes me as odd that someone can play for 10 years, get delisted then picked up by another club as a "rookie".

yep, rookie list is a joke. Should be only for 18-21 years olds.

If you're not eligible for the rising star, you're not eligible to be a rookie.

Even Carazzo.

Contractual flexibility is the main draw card.

If they want to keep the rookie list they could at least look at re-naming it.

Increase the cap or build some kind of injury exemptions into it. Or let them play regardless.

Crazy situation when you have players ready to play and they can't because they''re on the wrong list.

Let's call a spade a spade - it's a drug list. I'll accept injecting regime as well.
