Pretty courageous team too the Suns. Lynch all brave arcing up to someone half his size and Raines with a cowardly punch on a kid 10 years his junior because he couldn't keep up with him.

Lynch getting into Buckley was Goddard from last year all over again. Except this time we did something about it.

Went to the match with the son in law and no 1 grandchild, just great to see the little bloke that happy singing the song after the win.

I've always been a big fan of Krooz, was worried we may never see him on the park again, a great game by him. He's just a wonderful handballer, dominated in the ruck and as Barks said, what a big heart he's got. Young Holman looks a real prospect, eight possies in the last quarter and used the ball really well by foot. Levi, Hendo and Andrejs up forward, with Krooz and Wood going forward on occasion gives us real marking power. Defence is a worry, Rowe and White were towelled up, as is often the case against tall marking forwards. Hope Jamo will be back soon.

I thought last year that Armfield's career was over, happy to be proven wrong, even his kicking has improved. Top game by Graham, Docs also. Bell terrific, kicking still a worry though, same with Yarran. Loved Buckley's game too, the little bugger's like his old man, tough as nails. What can you say about Cripps? Raines threw everything at him and Cripps took it and ran him into the ground.

Still a long way short of the top sides, but the future doesn't look so bleak now, even the Northern Blues are travelling well!

BEST: Carlton: Bell, Murphy, Carrazzo, Everitt, Graham, Casboult, Armfield. Gold Coast: Lynch, Dixon, Raines, Rischitelli, Bennell.

Raines was one of the Suns' better players too in restricting the in-form Cripps to 20 disposals.

Journo has an appropriate name.

Wow restricted to 20 disposals.

A bit like restricting the fat kid at a birthday party to 20 cupcakes.

That's of course if there was a good defensive zone around them and he wasn't body rattled by all the thin kids first.

I agree completely he has to be taught to lower his eyes and try to find an option, it happens all too often that he just throws the ball on his boot and the kick just gets picked off by the opposition, love his endeavor and strength in a contest but he has to work hard on his skills and decision making otherwise he will have severe limitations on his value and would not get a game in a good side.

I think we're screaming out for a key back more than a key forward. Rowe was very very dodgy by foot a number of times today. He will do a reasonable job on the ruckman type forward but not so much the agile forward. White has a crack but is undersized and Jamieson is on the wrong side of his peak. Casboult, Hendo and Everitt is a reasonable forward line. I think we really need a big strong skilful back.

Couldn't agree more.

Raines fined $1000 for punching Cripps. Awesome lesson for young kids.

Its an absolute bloody joke. Cripps was down for a reasonably long time and even when he took his kick he hadnt recovered.
Punch some one in the guts when they dont expect it and thats ok but dont tackle someone and accidently hurt them and it is 2 weeks.

Unless you're a Sydney power forward, in which case: 1 week for an elbow to the jaw or simply running through a player off the ball.

We played below par compared to the previous two games against the Adelaide teams, yet still won comfortably and if not for bad kicking would have won by 10 goals.

How good is it to have Kreuzer back in full flight? It's like he never missed a game the way he's just come back in and attacked the ball. Pleaseeeee stay fit!

Levi is the big surprise this year, along with Bell.

Kruez with 11 score involvements.

If Franklin punches someone the opponent will get reported for headbutting his fist. He is the most protected cow in the AFL. To only get one week for that is an absolute disgrace. And Tippett's suspension is not much better. Zero common sense on that panel and I don't give a hoot about how many games they may have played - it doesn't put a brain in your head.

I've heard that the AFL is soon making official the "Marquee Player at the Tribunal" rule.

The impact on Cripps was graded as low impact. How did they come to that conclusion? I bet they didnt ask Carlton's medical team how Cripps was after the game.
It makes my blood boil at how inconsistent this MRP is.

They work backwards. What sentence do we want to hand down that best serves 'the brand'? (eg Essendon* players off, Barry Hall /Maguire let off to play in a grand final, minimum suspension for a Sydney marquee players, Father Son selections, player academies there are many more). Then just use whatever bullshit system already in place that was meant to stop this from happening as the reason they reached that decision.

Correct. The AFL is flower. If I didn't love Carlton so much, I'd just support the Sandy Zebras since I grew up a few hundred meters from the ground. But, the uniform reminds me too much of Hawthorn, who I despise, because I love Carlton too much. It's a vicious cycle.

Disagree. They've been quite consistent on this for the past few years.

My son in law reckoned Buddy would get four weeks reduced to three, Tippett three reduced to two with guilty pleas. I said you've gotta factor in the Sydney discount, they'll get two and one week respectively. I was almost right, what a joke.

Tripe.
His kicking is pretty good.
If the team was going at 51%, Bell was way above that. He also used is left a lot more last week.
He did miss that one easy shot at goal..

Yarran and Murphy each missed more targets than Bell in that game.

Noticed that the umpires chief noted that free kick against White wasn't a free kick to Lynch -wasn't honest though if he was he should have said
The worst free kick of the year :hitcomputer:

Only 3 below him during that game for DE.

When you have 32 @ 62.5% it's quite noticeable.
