It's alright, guys.

We moved house back in 1988 whilst my cat was due with kittens. Sure it was from Dandenong to Rosebud, but, same thing.

I hope the new senior coach is appointed before the finals.
The club doesn't have to announce it, just as long as the coach has some time to gather his thoughts before the finals/trade period.

Nah. We moved from Oz to Mexico with a 3 week old.

Yeah but Dew can't run so not relevant...

EFA.

(Funny reply on your part btw)

Assuming she's having a healthy pregnancy, I think it's not considered much of an issue inside the third trimester? Surely he'd know about the state of affairs in late July based on our timetable, so she could move ahead of time if he accepts the job.

It's more just a consideration of stress and being in a cramped space, and airlines covering their butts.

Drive.

Honestly that winds up worse because you're trading in stress of air travel and slightly air pressure issues with a 10-12 hour drive.

Sydney to Melbourne is a 3 hour ordeal, most of it on the ground.

General Manager Player Management - Brad Lloyd

Brad joined the club in February 2008 in the role of national recruiting manager, responsible for the club's National, Preseason and Rookie drafts. At the end of 2008, Brad was appointed to the senior management team as general manager player management. Brad’s core responsibilities are to oversee the club's total player payments and player contracting. He is also responsible for the national recruiting network and executing the club's drafting process.

Wasn't he/isn't he a development coach too? That's a lot of hats...

Sounds like a coach Andrew Walker will look up to then.

I must say the prospect of getting a youngish coach who ticks most boxes and is appointed after we've done due process is very exciting. It makes me feel optimistic for once about the club. I know we need the cattle and this will take a number of years but at least we now know the club has woken up to its antiquated past practices and is now getting their act together. At least I hope that's what's happening. Seems to be the case. Don't quote me on this - difficult I know given this is a web forum - but we could be a half decent side/club in a few years. Maybe.

What are people's thoughts on Blake Caracella? He's one of the nine assistant coaches selected to do the AFL's Senior Coaching course. He's played at Essendon*, Brisbane and Collingwood during their successful years. Dual premiership player as well as having played in a GF loss. Assistant coach at Collingwood 2007-2009 and now Geelong since 2010. I would have thought very worthy of consideration.

Rumour on 3AW Rumour file this morning suggesting the coach has already been selected and that the Coaching Selection Sub-Committee is merely window dressing.

Sounds like most panels I've sat on over the years.

Seriously, I'm hoping this rumour is merely based on 2 + 2 = Carlton. Ridiculous if it was any other club, but...

Some probably won't care believing that the perception of process is just as important as the process.

Proof will be on how many applicants there are. Something like this would be well known within the industry if true.

It would be a blight on the integrity of those involved. I'd only worry about such a rumour if say a Worsfold suddenly had a change of heart, and decides that he is suddenly 'ready'.

This however would make a mockery of the "independence" of the panel considering he's coached Judd, and sat on the panel with Ange that selected the Next Generation Level 4 coaches.
