Port Adelaide are really onto something with the "Never tear us apart" opening to their home games

I think we should adopt this it would add a lot of atmosphere its something we should have done a long time ago.. Make it our own teams know when they play us

So what would our song be?

Here are a few of my ideas

Eye of the tiger
Celine Dion my heart will go on
Simple Minds dont you forget about me
Benny Hill theme music
Beegees Staying alive

What does everyone think?

Any serious suggestions?

Never tear us apart is a ripper choice hats off to Kochie he has really galvanised that football club and this now is a tradition that will be go on long after he is gone.

Mate that is atmosphere AFL needs it, we need it, its a great song for them and if you were apart of it you wouldnt say that.

Have you been to a game in England? Home fans let it be known whose house they are in.

Port have adopted that philosophy.

Dragon - Rain

Reckon might be a ripper considering where are at and we are at and where we want to go
Well, isn't it a wonder the streets are dark?
Isn't it a wonder we fall apart?
Day after day straight rain falls down
All over town, rain come

It's been rainin' for so long
It's been rainin' for so long

Don't you go out in the rain
Don't go out in the pourin' rain
If you go out in the rain
You never have that time again

That would be good actually...they could get Phil Collins out & shine the spotlight on our squad while he sings it

They don't play team songs before the game in England... just their rev-up song, whatever the tradition may be. Poor example.

So I guess the question you should be asking is do clubs need to pick a song that reignites fan & club identity, or stick with their anthems?

You're The Voice - John Farnham

Great song.
Perfect lyrics
Change the word "You're" to "We're" in the chorus.
The chorus would be incredibly stirring, especially with a huge crowd singing....

We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet, before we get much older

We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?

(Chorus)
We're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oh-wo-wo-wo, oh-wo-wo-wo
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear

Oh-wo-wo-wo, oh-wo-wo-wo

Im really not keen on having a "Song"............... but, i actually like that suggestion.

Classic Australian Tune.
Well know.
Sends a message from the fans.
Easy to sing along too.

I kinda like it!

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
