White did a great job on Dustin Martin in Rd 1, got injured Rd 2. He came back in when Jamison was injured and has struggled on blokes with height and weight advantages. He's there to take on the third best forward, tall or short. I think he's an asset to the team and would get a game at most clubs.

As we rebuild, we need to hold onto versatile honest types over 26yo and move the rest on.

Only question mark on white is that he gets injured a bit.

....someone mentioned he'd dropped a lot of weight in order to play midfield/tagger.

That wouldn't help him just at the moment.

Stupid decision to even contemplate such a move. I guess we just didn't have enough 'run with players'.

Changes make sense, but don't think Ed will be dropped after a 30+ possessions game against the Crows.

Boekhorst in for Tutt? Yes, I like that idea.

Curnow gets almost no credit on this site. It confirms to me that most of the posters have never played sport at elite level and therefore have no concept of team structures and individual roles within that structure. They want everybody with a tank to be an elite midfielder who racks up 40 possies and kicks a couple of goals every week or you get rid of them. Wiggo was a classic TC whipping boy for years. Great bit part player, soldier, fringe player but always did his part when the chance came. It took years but he left Carlton a cult figure. Houla. Soft. Pretty. Coward. 200 gamer. Nobody pays 200 games of anything if they are soft or a coward. Wneh Fev was asked who he wanted with the footy on the wing, it was Houlihan. We TCers are a fickle bunch. I include myself in that by the way.

Curnow was ranked the #2 run with player in the comp last year. He is pretty quick over the ground all day, has elite endurance and is fearless. He rates himself against anybody and because of that he is comfortable to run off them and get the footy when he sees the chance, which sometimes never arrives so he doesn't take un-necessary risks. He is able to change his style of negating his man depending on who it is. He doesn't give away a lot of frees and NOBODY ever claims he pinches, flicks them in the jewels, holds excessively away from the contest or any other form of cheating. Pretty good result for a hack.

BS I mostly loathed Wiggins being in the team because when he ran forward with the ball he almost never took the first option; you watched his eyes dart around every looking to give the football off and he'd usually cough the football up with the pressure that would ensue.

I think very few TCers fit the mould of this 'perfect idiot' you're describing.

Why emphasise that he is a nice guy tagger? Is that helping us win games?

Where has anyone called him a hack?

What sport did you play at an elite level? (You may have mentioned before but I can't remember)

Adelaide match was encouraging but I'd be tempering expectations about this one a little. Being at the MCG rather than over there helps, but Port will be wanting to give us an absolute flogging to prove they are worthy of a finals position.

Does a good job of turning the ball over too unfortunately.

Unfortunately, he isn't the only serial offender of bad turnovers in our side.

Need a coaching duo of Ratts and Malty. A list comprised purely of HBF's and taggers.

I agree,Curnow can play and is badly undervalued by supporters. One of the first picked in my side.

The problem is we as a team we cannot afford having both Curnow and Carrots in the 22 together

Agreed. I think it's quite clear that Curnow has gone past Carrots now (or Carrots has regressed to this point). I don't think Curnow is currently in any danger of losing his spot, and offers good value on the list in the medium term at least.

We should always play the team likely to take the points.

When we can't see a win happening we should be putting time into our kids. If they play with last weeks spirit we can show off our wares to the best prospective coaches, FAs, draftees, and players looking for a change.

We should play the kids and see what they've got: Boekhurst Jaksch Graham Byrne Walsh Foster Johnson

Carrazzo will join Judd and Warnock off our list next year, and he has been injury prone in the last 4 years, so resting him for games we probably lose we may as well play the kids.

Curnow earns his spot. He really takes the biggest defensive running role every game, allowing others to be more attacking. He can be rested to see a kid later in the year.

If we play with the same intensity and risk we could win this, but can we do it without Carrazzo? I think we can.
