Posters of Juddy all over his room,,,,Juddy is the only reason my son, is sticking with barracking for Carlton.

He was in tears yesterday when we both saw Juddy go down,,,and I told him,,,thats it,,,he's done !!!

To us he is someone who brought hope in dark times and gave me some of my best footy memories.

He doesn't deserve to go out like this.

Have to say I nearly shed a tear. For such a servant of the game, he deserves nothing less than to be given a guard of honour and chaired off the game in his last game, with all the build up and accolades that that deserves. That every single Carlton fan has the chance to be there and let him know how damn awesome we think he is.

What I love about Juddy is how rounded a bloke he is. How out of the mould in some respects he is to most of the AFL herd. You just know he'll just go on and do something he wants to do, ,most likely well away from the AFL industry. He's a born leader because of the respect he commands.

It ends for everyone and this is a horrible way for it to end for Juddy. Funnily enough, it is easier for me to accept him giving it away in circumstances like this than it would be if he simply retired at the end of the year. I wanted him to go on next year but now I can accept its fair enough he calls time.

He knew as he left the field.

One of my absolute favourites before he joined us. Just got better in a Blues jumper.

Now look here guys
You carry on with the 'draw the curtain' approach,
but I've decided on the Seabiscuit approach.
Off to the farm, plenty of oats, sunshine and care,
then,
miraculous re boot.

also, I reckon the much talked about 'wave' was simply a small acknowledgement to the crowd;
a nod for their applause.
It was a 'thanks I'll be back' and not a 'thanks this is it'.

Absolute legend.

He could easily play until he is 35. Depends if he wants to put in the work. If l was juddy l would have a crack at lars. I hope he doesnt pull the pin, he deserves to be carried off like the greats of the game.

Keep going juddy. You will come back and still give us 10 times more than daisy

I'm being selfish but I would like for him to do the rehab and finish off on a high note next year

Hope he doesn't go out like this.

If he does go on I hope they look after him and play him predominantly at half back setting up the play and running it out of the back line with bursts through the midfield.

This will be good for the young guys in the middle and allow him to play on for longer.

I still think Daisy will get better. We judge too critically sometimes he has had a bad run.

Devastated. Gutted. Guttered even.

Has made me reflect why I watch football. Just team or to see the absolute star players within the team. Judd has certainly been the only joy in watching Carlton over the last few years. Head and shoulders above anyone else at PP despite asphyxiating defensive pressure and tactics probably never before applied to any single player in the history of the game. Nat Fyfe is about to find out about that from here on in.

Two anecdotes.

On the night he signed I wore my sleveless Carlton jumper to the gym, not a good look for a middle aged man. The place was packed. As I walked in at least six or eight blokes I hardly knew came up to me and started cheering and hugging. The sense of hope and joy and exhilaration was unbelievable. Revisit the TalkingJudd archive just to remember what it was like on that night and days that followed.

A couple of months later I took my son into the Carlton shop at PP and asked the girl at the register whether she had any number 5 Judd jumpers. She smiled and with a sweeping extension of her arm pointed to literally rows and rows and rows of Judd jumpers, hundreds and hundreds of them. There was hardly anything else in the @#$%&! store.

Yeah yeah I know Messiah complex no way to run a list or club. But hope and joy and expectation are crucial to fan engagement, as we all know right now. And hasn't he paid us off in spades.

Love ya Juddy, hope all works out OK

At his age (32 in Sep)... 12 months re-hab... one season to get confidence back etc

Can't see him playing on unless he and his surgeon go down the LARS route

So gutted for him... deserves to play 300 and be chaired off in his last game

Let's get the champ to 300 games. We can just make him the sub every game and not use it. Good test for the boys fitness.

He says he will decide in the next week whether to continue or retire.

Continue I say.......if he's comfortable to do so

he was a genuine superstar of the game

although he may have played his best football at the Eagles, his football at Carlton wasn't that far behind in quality

I actually admire him more for his efforts at Carlton as he had to change his role to a more inside/bullocking type player to help a lesser team

it's a pity he wasn't playing in the golden era of the eighties as I am pretty confident we would have won some more premierships

probably the best player I have seen at Carlton

I'll never forget that time he taught the playing group to eat roast chicken without the skin.

I've seen John Nicholl's last game, I've seen Alex Jesaulenko's last game, I've seen Bruce Doull's last game, I've seen Wayne Johnston's last game, I've seen Stephen Kernahan's last game, I've seen Greg William's last game, I've seen Stephen Silvagni's last game, I've seen Craig Bradley's last game, I've seen Anthony Koutoufides' last game, I might have seen Chris Judd's last game and including him in that company is the highest praise I can think of.
