Yep that's the criteria...talking on the field
Would you take Carrots ahead of that onfield orator Bruce Doull.?
Carrots is FINITO. If you need a large tumbler of water to help you digest that, be my guest
And to put a line through Whiley at this stage is nonsensical

it's all relative. right now we have a team void of all leadership and talk. carrots becomes valuable for that aspect. bruce doull didn't need to talk ... he was surrounded by other blokes who did.

whiley isn't up to it - he's the midfield version of Matthew Watson. no physical tools to go along with limited footy instincts.

jones isn't up to, tutt isn't up to it. and so far jaksch in a team starved for KPP's can't even get a game in the firsts. like everything that has malthouse's fingerprints on it here ... it's not looking good for the 2014 intake.

there's a reason these bottom of the table teams (gws & bulldogs) let these players go. why on earth anyone at cfc arrogantly thought they could they'd turn these guys into players, is beyond me. but i guess we're carlton, eff the rest, they can't smell what we're cooking, blah blah blah ...

He'll be a great midfielder for us.

Sorry but based on what evidence? Doesn't have the poise to play that position. Been tried amny times at that role and really struggled.

Classic type that needs to be played behind the ball and run straight and provide dash. Defender or nothing. Play him there the rest of the year. Poor kid needs a good run in that role and be allowed to settle in one position.

That would be the classical view, but that's the same classical view that hides poor kicks in the back line.

Buckley is a good kick, but not a naturally long kick; he's a finisher in the mould of Boekhorst, Isaac Smith, Lewis Jetta, etc. That's his niche, and in time I think he could take over the role Simpson plays for us as his game sense improves.

Simmo is strong in the air and Buckley has shown none of that yet.

He showed a decent leap on him as a junior and in the early days at the club, so what I'm hoping is that he develops a good sense of when to go for that kind of contests vs staying down. Simmo is absolutely a master of it and it was something he came to the club with, but I believe it's something that can developed.

First game for my 4 year old son, I expect a victory, either that or the fan engagement better be good cos we'll leave early otherwise

Yeah, this will be ugly. Yazz will be given the job on Eddie, and Eduardo will win the battle of the brothers handsomely, as Yazz has been in first gear all year and is not good in the air. I'd drag Yazz back to the goal square too, to negate his offensive run and make Ed really dangerous.

Crows by 70 with Ed to kick 7.

Buckley to Eddie and to run him off his feet and take him away from the goals.

Don't drop Buckley, Graham and bring in Holman.
If the club says it's going to change then shows us by your actions not words.

I would also give Kreuzer another week which means 2 and play Judd as the sub. Why not he has been sore and he ain't the future

If we make moves like putting Buckley back into defence, the game is over before it's begun.

If we want a lock down defender on Eddie, bring in Dick or Holman.

So you're saying no to Buckley but want to bring in Dick or Holman on Betts as better options?

Say what?!

The best small forward in the game will beat a kid who has played 14 games?

Been used as a midfield tagger as well. Be a smart move then to bring him into senior footy as a BP.

Our slowest midfielders are Ellard, Graham, Whiley, Gibbs, Carrazzo, Walsh and Cripps, possibly in that order.
