Play Brockhurst for the test of the year. Scandalous that he hasn't been playing.

Not playing Buckley all year has been reprehensible. Don't know what issue MM had with him but if you watch him, he is close to the most natural footballer we have. Classic kicking and handballing style.
Has to play all year.

full games too!

I don't know who will be out but I want to see 2 of Boekhurst Whiley Holman Walsh come in to the side. Buckley a full game.

Yarran, Menzel, Jones, Carazzo Tutt OUT

BB, Whiley Holman (sub) Murphy Watson IN

Buckley and Watson work in unison in the forward line.

Out : Menzel (inj), Yarran (inj), Jones
In : Boekhorst, Jaksch, Johnson

Gibbs, Murphy, Judd, Kreuzer, Jamo, Menzel & Yarran back in after the Bye.

B: Simmo Rowe Jaksch
HB: Tuohy White Docherty
C: Thomas Cripps Everitt
HF: Bell Hendo Graham
F: Walker Casboult Armfield

R: Wood Curnow Carrazzo
Inter: Buckley, Johnson, Tutt
Sub: Boekhorst

I'm not sure if Johnson (rookie) is eligible, but if he is, I'd throw him in this week. Johnson is not a likely long term prospect but at least he plays with a bit of combativeness. He will tackle in the forward line and he can lead up. I don't think we can keep playing Jones. And no point bringing in Watson because he brings no more intensity than Jones (possibly less).

If Johnson can't be promoted (I've lost track of who our eligible rookies are), then I'd probably go with Dick or Whiley. Our tall blokes aren't catching it anyway, so let's field a more mobile team.

Boekhorst is an ideal choice for Sub, IMO. He is struggling to play a whole game, but could give us some spark when he comes on.

I'll be happy if we lay 60 tackles and get within 10 goals...

Sheehan is gone for the year.

Byrne is supposed to be back soon, but presumably will need at least a couple of games in the VFL before being considered. He's been out for awhile now.

He'd need to be elevated in place of Sheehan ABNS, which might not be the best move given Giles is on track to return off the LTI list in rounds 14-16, and is responsible for Byrne's senior elevation.

I don't think he'll spark our forward line at all to be honest; would rather see Fields, Walsh or Gowers come in.

Sam McClure tells us that Chris Yarran could be available this week, as the ankle injury may not be as bad as first expected

bucks up forward makes the most sense in this side since this year started minus jeffy and eddie.

i'd have walker up there too, leading into space. henderson down back and casboult to stay at home when he's there.

Are we going to lose by less than 10 goals? I hope we win at least 2 quarters, that would be a win

What peeps thoughts on using Casboult at CHF and Walker, Buckey and Menzel up forward?

I like the idea of Casboult taking shots at goal from further out, and it gives us a target forward instead of bombing it in.

Walker has shown he can play forward and is a good kick for goal. Menzel and Buckley acting in the same rolls as Betts and Garlett?

I'd like to see Rowe, White and Henderson left down back permanently, then add Jamison to the mix could be a solid backline.

Seeing as we've got nothing to lose, I'd like to see some experimentation with Casboult at CHF and left there for the rest of the season.

Trigg said in Malthouses sacking presser that he'd like us to try new things, learn something new. I'd like to see the above tried for a few games.

Play Buckley up forward and his career is over. Played most of his early football there and struggled. Would of been cut until he was moved back and showed some promise.

Leave the kid in a back pocket for the rest of the year and watch him develop. Like many others just needs a consistent run at it.

Adelaide at the G on a Saturday afternoon will be worth seeing.

My wish:

B: Buckley Rowe Jaksch
HB: Docherty Henderson Simpson

Foll: Wood Curnow Graham
C: Boekhurst Cripps Everitt

HF: Thomas Casboult Bell
F: Murphy Kruezer Walker

Int: Armfield Whiley Tuohy Holman

Thomas can only play small forward. Suits Murphy as well.
Play Graham Cripps Bell Whiley Holman Tuohy through the midfield.
Curnow on Dangerfield
Walker as a mid forward. Kruezer at FF easing into ruck. He and Casboult make a contest
Buckley on Cameron. Docherty best match up on Betts
BB on MCG will suit

Looks good would like to see Tuohy on a wing and Buckley in a pocket, maybe on Eddie.
I think Menzel will miss, how is Clem going?

I expect Tuohy to get Betts, but I would seriously consider playing Jaksch on him.

Obviously we're scraping the bottom of the barrel now, and I don't invest much hope in Johnson, but when I look at last night's side the first thing I want to do is rip Jones out of it. We need a mobile lead up target who will compete hard consistently, fight to keep the ball in our forward line, tackle, chase. Watson doesn't tick enough of those boxes, so who else is there? Let's not rush Kreuzer back. Johnson has a bit of Simon Wiggins about him and at least he will scrap and try. I guess the same could be said of Holman, but we don't need another tagger.

I get your point about Byrne taking Sheehan's spot as an elevated rookie with Giles (hopefully) returning to the field in about a month. Is anyone about to go onto the LTI? Hopefully not, but how serious are the injuries to Gibbs & Menzel? Maybe we'll have a mid season retirement (Judd? Carrazzo?).
