A re-read of the Richard Pratt threads from 2007 are pretty funny right about now. Some Olympic level backflipping.

Bring them up and lets go through them in context.
Then let's examine your thought process by talking about a club today hasn't created the basics in an environment to move forward with the opportunity out bad a decade ago.
It's all about that!

What that thread would show is how pathetic and rudderless this board has been since that time...

Pratt hasn't been President for 8 years.
Not sure what relevance that has to the current board??

Anyway, back to the thread.....

I have no confidence currently in the Board to make the right decisions.
I think they should all offer themselves up for re-election at the end of the year and have to reapply for 8 positions.

Having said that, we have turned over much of our admin and made some changes at Board level incl reducing the number of Board members a little, stiffening up the application process (although I'm not sure this is a good move) and restricting the number of terms (has this been enshrined?).
So, in fairness, it is too early to tell whether we have turned the corner.
In the meantime, I'm looking for signs.
I think we handled the whole Mick thing terribly (who makes an announcement about an announcement about a decision that was already made.... Mick was right on that point) but not sure if any club would have been able to handle that with grace. Bad and cornered Mick possibly cost the Pies a flag in 2011 and he has dragged us down further than we needed to go now. And, for the record, I think he put himself in the corner and then flailed about wildly when no-one was preventing him from just walking out....

The next sign will be how we go about finding a replacement coach. A process is good to hear. Now, let's hope we have the right people on the committee and that we adhere to the process.

Personally, I think the Gerard Healy suggestion to get Robert Walls on the Board is not a bad one. I think he'd be able to call bullshit on the networkers and self-servers. There are a couple of Board members who I struggle to see the value in. Others, I can see the value ($$) but not sure they need to be Board members to bring that same value. Perpetuates the whole saviour complex we seem dependant on both on and off the field. I think it is important to have strong business leaders with good connections in the business and sporting worlds. But that is a more rigid criteria than just being wealthy.

Hmm. Did a search in the constitution on "Trigg" and nothing came up. Are you sure about your facts?

So basically what all of the public outcry is telling me is that:

"the members have every confidence in the board and wish them to continue managing the club until the end of the season.....or mid season break....or anytime really depending on the public assessment of media coverage"

What's the chances that we would have a board member that's a coterie member of another club?

It's a reality... It's how you can run with the best people making decisions rather than just those with the most money
