Aren't coaches contracted from 1 Oct - 30 Sept?
If so, Mick has 1/3 of his year to go, not half.

BTW...I'm shocked...is Ralph suggesting there have been coaches sacked and paid out?

Classic

Agree totally....but if we sacked him MONDAY it would have looked like same old reactive Carlton.

The narcissist BLEW UP and made the board smell of roses when they sacked him TUESDAY.
24 hours eh... A long time in footy.

Mind you I probably agree that the it wasn't a board strategy....but fell into their laps....regardless, MM looks the fool and desperate ...Carlton looks like they did what they had to do....
Given the complete mess...it's a good result for Carlton.

As I said...now the heat turns on the board....

Agree with this. Let's hope the heat remains on the board, and people don't get distracted.

Do we have 100 signatures yet? Mandate is for all Carlton Members to have an opportunity to *vote* for members of a 9 person board. Anyone can nominate themselves. Each candidate is allowed to submit a 500 word profile capturing their competencies/skillset, their plan moving forward and why they feel they are the right person for a seat. Once elected, the 9 person board will choose one of themselves to lead.

^ This way, nobody needs to put together a ticket and "challenge". Everyone wishing to put their hand up for a role on the board can do so (including existing members) and a ticket will be selected by the people, for the people.

Former Carlton midfielder Brock McLean said Mick Malthouse’s game plan was not suitable for the Blues’ playing list.

Malthouse was sacked yesterday after a run of heavy defeats, and a fallout with the Blues management.

Just a hunch but i reckon he'd make a good assistant coach.

I doubt it.... He's got a few issues.
Not sure why he's speaking out.

Moshe think of a clever acronym for all this as a symbol of resistance against the state of tyranny they're imposing upon the Carlton masses.
Not too clever...
Needs to be clever in its simplicity.

I just hope we play a structured free flowing game plan and lets the kids( and everyone for that matter) play attractive footy

Those are mutually exclusive concepts. :P

Do you mean a fluid attacking game plan that encourages players to make a play on the ball/contest rather than trying to lock down and scrag an opponent?

 god I hope you're kidding

Not kidding at all; do you want them to play a rigid, structured game or a more fluid game?

I will try and be as brief and as general as possible not to confuse the subject jimmae because I’m not the best typist and the less specific I am will be to the benefit of the topic as we would be excessively boorish and tedious other wise
You structure your players in their proper roles (positions) to have a flowing ball movement and a quick linkage with further up field target/s. None of this backward, stop, wait, boundary, and the multiple tag elements we have been doing with all about me micky
We can go into specifics about individual roles, player positioning, centre set ups, team defences and forward set ups, rotation and player management and all the rest of the blah, blah, blah but like I mentioned previously streamlining the topic for arguments sake and explained simply

P.S. try using the corridor once in a while might be to the advantage of our forwards structure and potency

Excellent; we're closer to the same song sheet than before. :)

FWIW, I want a little more rigidity in the positioning of the forwards, but the defenders and midfield need to be more positionally fluid with an without the ball, and probably need to not press so high up the ground (often the last defender is at the half way mark, as if AFL has an offside rule all of a sudden).

I don't think Malthouses childish instincts will be able to be reigned in, he's going to make himself look like an even bigger goose than he already is.

It's going to be champagne.

Board will just need to play a classic Geoff Boycott straight bat and move on
