Not that he said he would be involved, but I do believe I would vote for the current baord over a ticket featuring him.

Being a Carlton supporter should be a prerequisite for board nominees.

ALL IT SEEMS LIKE A SCAPEGOAT TO ME- LET'S ALL BLAME MICK SO THAT THIS USELESS BOARD CAN GO ON MAKING THEIR MILLIONS FROM THE POKIES BUT STUFF THE FOOTY CLUB- THIS IS A BUSINESS VENTURE!!

Andy Maher hinted on radio this morning of a board challenge.

The Board Challenge will probably be headed by myself... I have contacted one of my Uncles in the Emirates- he is a Sheikh you know... he agreed to lend me a couple of billions-just lazy money... But that should do the trick!!

Who wants to jump on BOARD? LOL

I'm on board... as long as your uncle is not corrupt... ?

The Word Corrupt in the Middle East is quite Normal. The Oil is still flowing so the money rolls in!!

and YES he is as corrupt as you can get!!

Well we now know the theme song for Dodo's ticket:

No no Synners, don't give a one liner, tell me what Trigg has done wrong?

Trigg/LaGuidace undermined the commitment of the players in round 2 by announcing the rebuild and that they would be up for trade.
The comments comprimised the coaches ability to motivate the players

I am glad to see him go but I think he should have been treated with a bit more respect.

I'd contest that MJ.
MM started this by dissin' the players he had at every turn.
probably they had to go with the rebuild line because they knew we would continue to get thrashed under Mick, and were trying to justify it, and keep crowds up.

He didn't need respect really.
The club needed to organize itself better

For any Supporters that wants to feel bad or sad for Mick, please don't. The Guy has clearly been saying on Radio all Year that he Won't lose Sleep over what the Board does and Whether he gets Sacked or not!!

He has to be held accountable for the Destruction of our List in the last three years which includes the removal of Betts, Waite, Gartlet & Laidler!! plus the miserable plan to recruit mature age Rubbish that can't even play the Game!!

To be honest, kezza, I think wanting to do exactly that has increased the messiness of his departure.

As far as today is concerned, this was 100% Mick's doing after his interveiw, and he knew exactly what the consequences would be.

What bullshit.

The players had a fork in the road at that moment. They could have played their arses off and proved Trigg wrong, or they could have dropped their heads and sooked.

what a shock that this list, who have achieved nothing and now seen off three coaches, took the latter option. Just like they do in games, they cede control to others and accept it without a whimper.

Quote:
The Carlton Football Club Board has today advised Mick Malthouse that his contract as senior coach has been terminated effective immediately.

As I communicated to Mick and our members yesterday, the decision on our senior coaching role was to be reviewed, considered and delivered in the week of the bye. However, unfortunately Mick’s obvious public misalignment with the football club has resulted in a loss of trust between the Club and coach.

The Board today considered the situation had deteriorated to such an extent that not making a change now would only exacerbate our current position.

We must be united in assessing where we presently are and where we want to go. Without unity we simply won’t get there.
I must stress that we do not accept 2015 as a write off.

John Barker will serve as our interim senior coach. I am confident that his strong leadership and respectful relationship with the playing group will ensure he steps into this role seamlessly. He will be aided by the experience of Rob Wiley and Dean Laidley, who will continue to fulfill their current roles, along with our other assistant coaches.

John will nurture our younger talent and give them a chance to shine, while balancing their skills with the experience of our more senior players.

This is also an opportunity for our players to demonstrate their commitment and show their passion for our jumper.

In coming weeks the Club will determine the make-up of an independent selection committee that will begin the process of finding the best equipped individual to coach Carlton in 2016 and beyond. This committee will consider only the best candidates for the role. It will be a genuine and exhaustive process.

In closing, I would like to acknowledge Mick Malthouse’s contribution to Carlton and the broader football community. He is rightly described as a legend of the game.

The role of a senior coach is demanding and uncompromising, one that takes true passion and dedication. Carlton is grateful to have been a part of his coaching legacy.

This decision was not made easily. AFL football is ultimately about people and relationships. Unfortunately, in this case the relationship regrettably has not worked.

Now we must look to the future. We have an enormous amount of work ahead of us both on and off the field. It will take some time, but I am confident that we will make Carlton a strong and proud football club once again.
