Thets a big accusation!!
And now Eddie's manager has contradicted MM, he looks like a goose.
Why continue the mud slinging and throw Trigg under the bus with him ?
Why cant this guy just shut his trap!!
I was happy for him to coach until he bye, but now again MM couldn't help himself and opens him mouth and rubbishes the Club.
We need to cut our losses and toss him out with the trash.

Backfired.

Not sure what he's hoping to achieve by bringing it up. Nothing he says can defend the Thomas recruitment

Funny really.
People want Malthouse gone so are quick to assume he made the story up.
Player managers are upstanding citizens after all.....

Same here.

They won't "sakc" Micky, because then they'll have to pay him out anyway *and* find someone to coach out the season and pay them as well (unless Laidley takes a promotion without pay).

The board plans to officially announce that Mick will not be kept on in 2016. Doing so at the bye is in line with what they have said from the beginning - that a call will be made in the second half of the season.

Mick has been informed, and his choice (which he has been given time to consider) is whether to coach out the season, take the cash and end his career with a spoon, or walk without the cash, keep some pride that he's walked on his own terms and with no spoon to his record.

The present administration has made MANY blunders, yes, but they have very few options at this point:

1) Do nothing. Let the media speculate and blowtorch the club.
2) Make an immediate kneejerk decision. Let the media speculate and blowtorch the club.
3) Make an announcement - give Mick a chance to end his career with some dignity. Media still blowtorches the club, but we get our wish which is for the coaching position in 2016 to be clear to all and no more speculation moving forward, and (they hope) for Mick to walk away of his own accord at that time.

1. He's driving a wedge between himself and the administration in order to force their hand.
2. He's deflecting the recruitment decisions he can that reflect badly on him, he'll say he had to get Daisy because Betts was gone.
3. He's manipulating the media to get them on his side so he can win the PR battle between him and the club.
4. He's being a self-serving, narcissistic cauliflower.

Whether its true or not is irrelevant.

Still works if you keep leaning on the opposite corner

Malthouse has just slid his arse to the other end and it's coming crashing down.

Got to clear the plates first. This is what the next two weeks were for. They should have announced nothing. In their bid to take the heat out of the situation from the media, the board have opened the lions cage and he has come out biting.

They need to shoot that lion on the spot now

Mick proves once again it is all about him..... These 2 weeks have nothing to do with him. These two weeks are about the club planning the way forward without him

Spot on.

Anyone who thought Mick would go out without looking after his own best interests is kidding themselves.
He showed the same ego driven petulance at the Pies in 2011 and this was never going to be any different.
Full of shit as usual.

Adelaide had Eddie Betts stitched up 18 months out? Eddie was a restricted free agent. Carlton just had to match Adelaides bid and he stayed. Simple.

Mick stating he doesn't like to make excuses. This comment after he's just told us all about the injuries at the club.

Lets remember, this bloke was happy to accept the job after Brett Ratten was treated exactly the same.
One went out with dignity. The other went out as a shit bloke.
No surprise to me. It was just a matter of time before he carried on like this.

Absolutely right BV it always is/was about Mick.

No concessions from him that he has been around for 3 draft/cleanout sessions ( I am including his first year when he shot through for 6 weeks promoting his book) In that period well in excess of 50% of the list has changed. The "cattle" are now largely of his making!

No concession that his game plan has resulted in some of our worst losses and what is particularly galling is that he cannot come up with a plan B!

He talks about " his boys " being with him but he struggle to get 30 tackles a week out of them!

The bloke was toxic from the start and Blind Freddy could see that there was no cultural fit.

Don"t let the door hit you on the way out!!!!!!!
