Who turned over 25 players?- Mick Malthouse
Big @#$%&! deal. Everyone turns over rookies.
The reality is
21 of our current 38 senior listed players were already at the club when Mick came. 21!Compare that to most other clubs in the AFL and sadly for you, it's nothing special.
If anything, we've turned over less players than most.
Yes, another use of simplistic statistics. When you look behind the 21 players from the Ratten era, they are hardly superstars and support the argument that it is a talent problem much more than a coaching problem. In fact most of your 21 performed better under Malthouse than the previous coach
Judd - ageing
Simpson- good but ageing
Walker- injury.
Murphy- ok but barely an A grader
Gibbs- Best football under Malthouse last year and this year reverts to his former self
Thouy- playing to his ability but not a B grader. Coach has got the most out of him
Rowe- Developed by Malthouse into a Defender but playing to the best of his ability
Jamison- Ageing, injured. Can he play better under another coach? Doubtful
Armfield- Get's game based on endeavour. Fringe player at best. Will not do better under another coach
Casboult- Gradual improvement. Malthouse move to a second ruck compensates for his inability to kick. May put it all together under a new coach
Buckley- Developed well in defence. Admittedly could do well with a new coach
Warnock- Played great finals under Ratten. Lacks intensity. Would a new coach turn him around - I doubt it
Yarran- Best football under malthouse. Harder and more consistent. Suffers from playing in a weak side
Kreuzer- Football gods have not smiled upon him
Bell- Developed well under Malthouse
Curnow- A tagger, plays to his ability. Had a lapse when injured. Doubtful a new coach improve him
Carazzo- Injured and ageing
Watson- Never was and never will be. His development as a forward was Malthouse inspired
Henderson- injured. Had to play forward. May benefit from a new coach
Ellard- Best performed under malthouse. Never was. Never will be
White- Best performed under Malthouse
