He doesn't need to just llanswer questions.
He just can't start up situations that explode.
He's already been central to some massive blunders
Either costing us credibility... Money and in his rebuild speech the season and the list etc.
The club doesn't need to announced a rebuild.. It should always be vigilant in building ,refining, growing. Improving itself..
He was president end of last year.. What's this " rebuild " business round 2?
Pathetic!
That's self preservation damage control rhetoric.
He's a banana!

He's the current leader of a bunch of bananas that have been committing genocide on the supporters of this club and cleansing the pride and standing of what was the greatest club in Australian sport..

The way they have gone about the job of dismembering everything about this club and what it stands for your think it was a bunch of crimes against the club done premeditated, methodical, systematically and with single minded purpose.
They should all be hauled off to the Hague..

Amazing!

Maybe someone should ask them why they still underspend in crucial areas such as recruitment, player development and footy department ... Maybe cos they are stashing the cash for the big fish ... Cos that will save us

They don't have money mate! The club is bleeding cash
They don't have any ideas about how to get money.
Even the oligarchs are sick of tipping in

The club is that low on prestige and with few free to air night gave next year Geoffrey Edelsten will desert the ship pretty soon.. It's taken him as far as it can take him.. Sticking around takes media whores to a whole new low.. So who knows? He's not your stock standard media whore.. He's much grubbier..
He might soon be the face of the club.
Dunno.. Let's see what happens next..

that's really good. finally some awareness is being raised at the board and admin levels of the club.

there's hope yet they'll all stand down and allow regeneration to take place.

The real worry for me is we are looking to the same people to who put us in this situation to change things and make us a powerhouse again. Madness

Andy Maher on radio now asking Mike Sheahan why the board hasn't been held accountable for years of poor decisions that has led us to this predicament.
Sheahan thinks you can't suddenly get 6-8 people together to run a club.

I heard that. I wanted Andy to ask him, would they do any worse if they did??

Supporters are crying out for an alternative to the stale, dysfunctional, embarrassing Board we have at the moment. They have steered us into the depths of mediocrity, and we re so far down that it ll take a massive job to pull us back up.
However, I don't hold any high hopes that a suitable alternative Ticket can be formed.

At least the focus has moved on from being solely on the coach.
Though that's the sexy element for the media and will play out very soon.
The real story people are finally realising is the bumbling board and its litany of mistakes.
This means there will be changes but the question is how meaningful?
Don't think anyone will tolerate any more wall papering.

Why isn't there a rival ticket yet? SURELY there are a handful of other supporters out there with the acumen and drive to challenge. What does it take? 100 signatures..........

It's the only thing they need to maintain control, so take it from them.

The 100 signatures clause is still in the constitution; 5% of the voting members or 100, whichever is the smaller sum.

Needs to be delivered to the club with all the names, membership numbers and signatures. But you need to state the order of business for calling the meeting.

I would sign up to that in a heart beat, order of business can be all board positions up for replacement. Keep doing this until we get real change, it will at least shine the spotlight where it should be....

What does the 100 signatures thing get us? An extraordinary meeting?

Would be worth clearly defining an objective... but once that's done we could put a form up at the club. A paragraph or two clearly describing the objective, then below it 101 rows and columns: Name, Membership Number, Signature, Date/Time. Stick it on the window at the front entrance (surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to pull it down). Bombard social media and get those signatures.

Then we get our chance.

Pressure needs to be ramped up on the board. It looks like it's finally starting. I think the good thing is if they keep malthouse to the end of the year or sack him mid year it'll cause more problems for them and more heat. Especially if they make the wrong call at the end of the year by just getting the 'best' coach available with no process involved.

Whatever iit is....now is the time to strike.

I'm sure there's a few good ones out there, maybe not 6-8.

I'm also sure that amongst the current Board there has to be a couple in there who do earn the role as a Director.

Great thread London Blue. It is time to find out whose who in our zoo. Lets build our own Wikipedia profile on them.

Who are they?
What do they do?
What have they achieved?
What skills do they have?
What have they contibuted to the club?
Are there factions in the club?
If so, who is aligned to each faction?
What are some of the public visions of these Directors?
Are the visions realistic?
Have we achieved any of the proposed milestones?
why the success or failure of milestones?
Who made decisions on recruitment, football depts?
How was the Thomas decision made?

There'sa plethora of questions we could ask and between all the forums we can develop a profile without silly language and insults. Purely facts.

I keep hearing and reading accusations. I want facts. I want to collate informaton from a body of informers just an individual poster.

Not sure if there is a specific post discussing the Board.

Plenty of discussion about the board needing to take accountability for our current plight. Here is a morsel of an example that aggravated me yesterday.

Played golf with a well connected/respected AFL contributor.

Shared that the AFL were involved in our recent search for a new CEO. During the process a 'respected CEO' was encouraged to meet with Carlton and members of its board.

After meeting half of the board, the said 'respected CEO' fed back to the AFL that there wasn't a hope in hell they could work for Carlton.

A number of concerns with that story.

How apt the timing of your thread and post London.

Post 1970. Our premiership year..

I wonder if mark and the board would be endorsed by his very own independent review committee..
Lol

Do what I'm doing - send the guy an email requesting he resign. We'll focus on the rest later. This guy should be the first to go.

I also want to know what the young Carlton professionals think about all this and what they have been up to?
See it's all good starting up things but they need to be meaningful.. And must fit into a proper ecosystem..
What happened to our development academy?

This is an exercise in how you start up with something that was once great and grind it into the ground..
Twenty odd years and it's gaining momentum...

They don't have any answers for this plunging elevator.

20 by 2020 ..
And I wonder how he feels about the club now he's not spring next to dick but a bunch of them.

What's important to understand is that most people are not looking at the board.. But the team.
To most the board is invisible and doesn't really factor in.
