He was fwd line coach for years and our fwd line was horrible the while time, no structures, no team work, no blocks, etc. he changed to defensive coach and that's since turned to shite.
I vote Laidler as interim, anyone but barker even

Most onlookers share the same thought Hibbo's.
The only difference is you've seen him giving his views live.

I don't want him leading our guys just because he's popular with the players.

I hope it's not a case of beggars can't be choosers and he is the cheapest option.

Not sure how much it means, but the AFL panel selected Barker for the level 4 senior coaching program.

make osbourne care taker and tell him to teach us how to play like hawthorn

I was just thinking along those lines for the caretakers role.

But I was just hoping for him to introduce our players to the modern game....after that he can let them in on the Hawks way.

My observation is that our players are the bruise free types.

I believe you. I shouldn't be surprised. After all we did have Fev and a few ground dwellers snagging a few more. This year we wonder where the goals are going to come from and if they kick straight.

What a terrible job we have done with development.
Another wasted preseason.

I remember heading off to bigfooty armed with a few snide remarks for the Dawks supporters... poaching their forward coach was a big deal.

I was surprised that none of them were too worried about his defection... most blamed him for their dysfunctional forward setup... I left there without comment

Seeing how he's done wonders with us... at both ends... I won't be celebrating his elevation to caretaker.

Anyone thought that the lack of tackling, having a go etc is a silent protest by the players for the club to get rid of Malthouse? What do you expect them to come out and tell the truth. Murphy said as much they don't tackle, so if they know about it why don't they? Food for thought..

No way I buy that. Surely they are not that childish, that is pathetic.

Would be interesting to watch him coach us whilst playing for Sydney this week.

Would he be the first ever playing coach performing roles on opposing sides?

Pretty sure this line of thinking was used to explain to GC game that knifed Ratten in 2012.

Hopefully Barker is appointed, the players warm to him and demand his permanent appointment, a la roos oveR Wallace, and we then give him a 12 year contract

I am trying to understand how we can dish out an average of 35 tackles per game, and other teams are at around 70. Just trying to convince myself, it's deliberate cause they are not happy.

Then they should clean them out and start again, stamping your feet and throwing in the towel isn't the way to gain respect. I really hope this isn't the case.

We actually average around 55 tackles a game, but only 38 over the past two games.

Players don't want Mick out.. Or didn't..
But when something like this is happening.. Must be confusing

I really hope it isn't on purpose, that's disgusting if it is. Can you imagine Simpson and Judd missing tackles on purpose. No way. If there are players that do, they should be flicked because that isn't a culture you want anywhere.

300+ pages in getting rid of the coach. Whilst there is no focus on the pratts, Mathieson, Gleeson, et al.
