I agree, silence is the best treatment. Don't show your faces at the games, don't sign up as members, then suddenly, the numbers look horrifying for the club. Having low membership numbers and low attendances does hurt the club.

Pitting finance v passion v pride will culster a reaction that will create decisions based on survival and desperation. Backs to the wall moment. Turning around a situation of blazeness comes from a moment of plenipotentiary discussions from within.

Let it roll!

Judging from the last 3 weeks, the boycott is already on.

Unfortunately in my case, they got my membership money though.

But next year, no way.

I withdrew my membership after 20+ years this year and I must say I do feel slightly guilty. I don't want to jump of the sinking ship especially after all the good times this club provided me and many others. But poor recruitment, list management and development has taken its toll.

The recruitment of Jones last year probably tipped me over the edge, 3 yr deal and a significant pay rise to get him from the Dogs, why? What did he show at the Dogs that made the club make this decision?

If my membership money is contributing to fools in making these type of decisions they will have to look elsewhere. Jones is one example, we all know the other poor recruitment decisions - no need to list them all. All clubs in hindsight make wrong calls but seriously everything we touch turns to crap.

I'm with you on that. I was so disillusioned last year (mainly after the Essendon* flogging) that I thought to myself I wouldn't renew my membership. Handing over funds for the board to make the same mistakes year after year and run the club into the ground.

I was stupid enough to renew after thinking we may be on the right track. How wrong was I.

I definitely won't be making the same mistake again next year.

With the decline in members the club needs to follow the Field of Dreams motto

"If you build it, they will come". In our case it's more like if you rebuild it .........

By doing something I want to see the club on the same page.

Board and MM need to come admit that he will not be there next year. He will coach the side for the rest of the year with the goal to get as many games and experience into our kids as possible. SOS will have a big say in selection. If MM can't do that (and he says he never quits) then Laidley to take over.

Club needs to annouce a CLEAR plan that they are in a full rebuild and will be going to the draft over the next 3-5 years to build a strong and highly competitve club. Whether that means trading etc only time will telll but we will be looking at all options to bring in as many kids as possible. Will not be considering any quick fixes.

No more Jones, Tutt, Dick selections.

Carlton will have a stand alone Reserves side playing out of PP.

A full process will be conducted over the next 3-4 months to select the best coach to take us forward.

A New Football Manager with expertise in contract negotiation to be employed.

Do this and show some real leadership I believe the club will bounce back and it's supporters will return.

Bryce being smashed on Crunch Time. No answers to why the players are performing the way they are. Another player who also doesn't think the rebuild comments are impacting players.

In fact a must listen to interview when it's put online. Great honesty by Bryce, credit to him for being up front and straight.

Look at what happened yesterday

Did you listen to it? That wasn't a club message, it was Bryce Gibbs talking from within.

Reflected the club. Down and with no real answers

Reflected the clubs position, not the messaging.

Last 5 minutes on SEN FINALLY addressed the issue. Decisions of the past have crippled the club. First time I've heard a consensus from the media about what we know. We have never looked to the future.
If you keep doing the same thing you'll keep getting the same result.
To me it started post 1995. Made no changes because we had such a huge year.
1999 bathed in the glory of the prelim.
2010 and 2011 spent too much time lamenting the close final losses and not changing the list.
Getting McLean on Brownlow night thinking he'd deliver a flag. Lose Fev that day and window shuts.
We have never taken a longterm approach to anything.

Totally agree. I think we are doing the right thing then I hear Trigg explain that recruiting Jones last year was part of building a core group to build the kids around. Seriously?

If you want to build a core Jones wouldn't be one I would consider nor Thomas, Dick or Tutt. Even Boekhurst.

Make Simpson Captain (Like Murphy at Dogs) and start building from the bottom.

To fellow CFC supporters

I've been a long time reader/supporter on this site, but rarely posted. As a proud Carlton supporter, I've taken to social media over night #CFC2015DoSomething. As a proud supporter I'm completely disgusted at the plight of our football club. I know that I'm preaching to the converted. The club needs to DO SOMETHING !!!, they need to sell us hope instead of hopelessness. I hope you can join me on the social media petition to the football club, they aren't doing anything, but we can.

Regards
Louis

Hi Louis,

I admire your passion. Remember to try and define clear representatives for your campaign should anyone wish to contact you, as well as to build clear goals and targets for the club to hit.

I'd suggest partnering with this poster:

Who seems to be thinking along the same lines as you in terms of getting community support.

The heartening thing is the rabble that is our board is now being exposed in the mainstream, so the scrutiny it's being focused on that as well.
They can't keep hiding behind the coach. People realise changing the coach is only part of the problem.
The world has realised we have been a shit club for 15 years and that's not the fault of a couple of coaches. The stuff we have been banging on about here is now out there.
Unfortunately, the worst thing we could do now in terms of making fundamental off field changes is to start winning.
