And we had to have it to see clearly the shortcomings of this football club.
It was definitely a house of cards.
From calamity let there be glory!

Bring on the future!!!
Aot of w0ork needs to be done to repair a wasted decade.

Engaging positive sentiment.

It would be something for all the Carlton faithful to finally get back onto the same page.
Fingers crossed is the best I have to offer.

Yeah. And let's not have any more 20/20 hindsight.

I actually think it's very important to look back, as long as you do so with an eye to learn from past experiences. I'd like to think, for instance, that the club is asking "what caused us to miss out on Player X (Jack Darling for example) and what can we do to lessen the chances of that happening again?"

The only way I know to get better is to try something, screw it up, and learn from it. Luck is overrated.

On field we were a house of cards, as well as off it. This will now change, everyone had their doubts and this year showed all our worst fears confirmed.

Things are changing for the better, still a lot of hard work to be done. We need to get back to the top and put a sustainable system in place where we are consistently making Prelim's and GF's a la Collingwood, Geelong and Hawthorn have.

If its learning instead of whinging then you're right.

Sigh.
I was at the Gold Coast game that cost Ratten his job. I am going up to Sydney next week for that game, will I also witness the match that brings down another coach?

It was ducked ! You have to admit....
The club was pretty amateurish for a very long period of time..
I must admit.. I was hoping we would find a backbone somewhere..I never thought we would ever be a powerhouse again..
But we have sunk into the sand of oblivion.
They lazily believe in silver bullets.
You can't believe that one thing can fix you just as the opposite is true about one thing bringing you down

This is endemic negligence of massive proteins over many years on many levels and it's continuing on now

Drama queen. Of course we can become a powerhouse once again. These sorts of posts lose you credibility. Why the need to continually overstate things?

Absolutely.

If you can't measure, you can't fix.

What's the point about this thread again?

2012. What have we learned? How can we improve because of it.

What opportunity did 2012 create for the club?

2012.. The drug cheats wiped the floor with us in a drug fueled frenzy, and then it was all over red rover.. confidence shot. Exposed.

Our confidence was shot after beating them by 96 points? I think it was the other way round there. Sarcasm I am guessing.

2015 is the year we had to have.
Finally people are asking questions of the Board and the players, as well as the Coach.
