Love this concept. Hate the outcome and the questions it poses.

Round 7

Carlton 9.3.57
Ex Blues 20.8.128

Betts 6.2
Kennedy 4.2
Garlett 3.2
Robinson 3.0
Waite 2.2
Grigg 2.0

-------------------------
TOTAL (After R7)
-------------------------
Carlton 75.72.522
Ex Blues 93.54 612
-------------------------

The accuracy is a further kick in the guts! But at least we're equal on scoring shots.

You would hate to add Laidler & Jacobs value as well. Might not be direct goals but boy oh boy!

I seem to remember one day back in round 2 1969 the blues kicked a lazy 30 30 = 210 in ONE game against the hawks.

They were the days when players wanted to COME to us to play.

Good to see kennedy step up against quality opposition in geelong. Wce are actually pretty good. And their injury list is horrible.

I didn't think WCE would get a sniff at finals this year certainly going ok at the moment
Draw gets a bit tougher for them now not to many easy beats in run home.
Confidence is a wonderful thing

I have to ask, are those stats really relevant considering the types of players and teams or ex-players our now playing with?

10 players at 8 clubs
Trying to get your point.
I think what these stats are showing is that our recruiting may have been on the money and our coaching and development are holding them back.

That's an excellent point I never considered. There's been a lot of talk about our woeful drafting results, so these stats reflect our drafting my not have been that bad, and our development was the culprit after all. Who is responsible for player development @ Carlton? Is it a team of people or does the onus rest upon one individual?

Its not purely player development

Laidler - one bad season with 3 dislocated kneecaps. Dumped for NO compensation
robinson - was performing. Dumped for NO compensation
garlett - one bad season. Dumped for NO compensation
betts - let go and picked up thomas rather than opting to take FA compo (would have been either first round or end of first round)
waite - let go for NO compensation

It points at something wrong at Carlton.
