Our second pick would be 19. Thus compensation for Kruezer would be Pick 20.

A number of options.

With the new academy bidding rules, Sydney will be closed out of the early rounds with giving up picks for Mills. Sydney may want to re-enter the draft because they have to replace Richards and Grundy shortly.

A pick 19 or 20 could get Mitchell.

Not that I believe Aish will come here but Pick 19 or Pick 20 by itself could get Aish.

John I just think we have been burnt too many times. Maybe there will be a Fyfe or a Parker available at 20 but it could just as easily be Bootsma or Watson. I asume if Aish goes he will want to get to a good club or back home to SA, and he is struggling to get a game at the Lions, so he may have talent but the jury is way out on his future. Mitchell is a good little player but I think we are underestimating Big K. If he can ever get a run at it he provids a lot of grunt and can be as nuch a big bodied mid as anything. He is injury prone which means smart clubs will only take him if they think he is a reasonable risk, if they think he is a reasonable risk then I would retain him. I couldn't stand another Sam Jacobs scenario. Our playing list is ordinary but is playing way worse than its talent which is to do with coaching and development, unless we address those we aren't going anywhere. I doubt Mitchell or Aish would be going to well in Carlton jumpers.

Why would Collingwood want Kreuzer with Grundy & Witts?

Unless they are stupid like us & think he can play forward and replace Jesse white.

If you read the latest article on SOS today there is a heavy focus on salary cap management.

I would assume Kruezer is on very good money right now. My information is he knocked back a large offer from GWS and the club rewarded him for this.

Unless he takes a big pay cut, I don't think he will be a Carlton player next year.

Have been told that the preference of SOS is to let Kruezer walk in FA. Apparently Coll are into him massively.

If he gets a contract of plus $400 k at his new club, the club could get a second round pick for him as compensation.

Do you have a source Em, or are you speculating based on limited information? :P

Regardless, if he's good enough to net us a 2nd round pick with a 400k wage then he's on a 3-year contract I presume, which means he's not really suffering through injury. We'd be better off keeping him.

They can have strategy meetings and knock out some projections and assign values so that they have a number of plans in place, but if Kreuzer is performing for us in the second half of the season, we'll sign him back up. We'd be mad not to.

2Nd rounder over my cold dead body. Why would we support him for 7 years to let him go to the filth for another Watson?

We wouldn't.

Wouldn't that be a great return on investment, take a #1 pick, sit him in the sick bay and pay him hundreds of thousands of $$ for a few years, hardly playing, then offload him elsewhere for a 2nd round pick.

It's Synners' alter ego for when he wants to use more fleshed-out logic and sentence structure.

Oh.

Not that I care, but isn't there a rule against that kind of thing?

There is, but it's overly strict IMO.

Also, John James isn't Synners. How do we know you're not John James?! :sly:
