What worries me the most
Is if we start to turn things around now that the season is shot
We face a few top opponents in the coming weeks and if we have honorable losses against sides going at half pace it will be a false dawn.
The club will be stupid enough to look at it and think we have bottomed out and turned the corner and reappoint Malthouse on the back of spirited performance and late season wins
It will be a disaster if this were to happen

Malthouse needs to go this week, not the next or the next after that. We have plenty of funds and pull available on our board to do this. No excuses.

What funds do you speak of? You're expecting Bruce or Jeannie to reach into their sky rockets and pay MM out? Surely you jest. :donk:

Does the AFL even allow that?

They'll take anyones money.

We are emotionally drowning and losing, if we have not already lost, the last remaining decent players on our list. I cringe watching Laidler, Betts, Garlett, Waite, etc playing good AFL footy. We need to start to show we have a future as little as next year and that is by keeping what we have and building from there. We cannot as a club throw away what we have and start again. Whether you believe we have enough or not is irrelevant. We have no room (years) left. We flowered those up and are drowning in quick sand! Time to build with 'smarts' on field but more importantly stabilise and then build our base off field. This is a huge concern right now, not tomorrow!

This is now the main issue., player retention.
I feel sick thinking about our club and there seems to be a sense of hopelessness and no end in sight for our misery.

Like Black Friday sick.
Who would believe we would end back there.
Sir Richard would be rolling in his grave.

God I hope no-one does anything that diminishes our brand or our image or our high standing in this league. I'm really worried that Carlton's good name might get sullied.

How depressing.

MLG is a peanut. Won't even come on TV or radio and explain position. So much for member engagement. This is damaging the club, the image and costing money.

Please explain why we should wait? Please explain what we are trying to achieve?

I thought when MLG was appointed things may change. They have but for the worse. Well done.

Don't forget he was part of the board which appointed Malthouse.

Will anyone on the board be held accountable for the Malthouse appointment?

Again another ill informed and stupid comment. Those who know MLG and know about his device on the board will tell you he has been one who's been a huge advocate for change at the this club. He was a loan hand on the board who had no alliance to any party.

MLG hasn't even been in the presidents chair for a year yet. Just give the guy a chance to implement his plans and you'll see some major changes come years end.

Does that device vibrate?

He's a proven three time premiership coach and a master at rebuilding and developing.

The position the club sees its self In right now just shows how far off we are as a good modem day football club.

The playing list are a soft insipid uninspiring talentless bunch that a champion coach can't even work with.

oh c'mon tru blu
surely you can see it is not all on the players?
atrocious unwatchable game plan..
and the old fool too stubborn to change it.
players in their shells?
complete disaster!
plus petty teacher's pet issues re Buckley, and God knows who else.
If you know Mick,
let him know how we feel.
I know I did yesterday.

Yeah port adelaide looked like us now a cpl yrs ago.
bulldogs were far worse than us. Even lost libba this yr and just missed out on beating the best team in the league by a goal. They are likely to make the 8.

OR we dont have the money left to payout Malthouse and hire somebody else to take his place so we need to make a good fist of it until we can walk away without incurring any additional non-budgeted expenses.

Tell him to take more of a back seat and promote from within, maybe see if he'll share some of his salary with his boys.

If he can't take a back seat, put him on gardening leave.

It seems that we should have done that 3 years ago.

Patrick Smith reckons we need to get Clarkson. That would be hilarious.

I wonder if those on the board have similar views...

I'm sure Hawthorn regret not appointing Wallace, Eade or Ayres and getting Clarkson instead.

Why waste money? The season is a write-off.

Silvagni and team will be managing the list for 2016, we can conduct a proper search for a new Coach at the end of the season.

Jason Akermanis (I know) told a story in 2012 that either prior or just after Ratten was sacked he was having lunch with Jack Elliott.

Elliott told Aker, that Sticks rang him asking his advice on what to do in selecting a new coach.

Elliott apparently told Sticks that he needs to get one of the following three guys. Malthouse, Roos or Ayres.
