Yeah why not we may as well torch two top ten picks instead of one.

If Rice chooses Blues we'll have 2 top 10 picks. Best kid in draft and top 10 with our second pick.

Pick up Aish with first pick in preseason draft for nothing.

Trade some quality for extras

Play cards right we could get 3-4 top touted kids plus another couple of under 21 yr olds(Aish) etc.

That's all well and good but going by past history these are the guys playing cards for us.

I like the way you think Hibbo.
I'm not sure how accurate it is but I like it anyway.

How do we get two top 10 picks?

It'd have to be a 3 way trade.

Probably not good for us given we're rebuilding but would you do pick 1 for Sloane & their first pick (hopefully they don't play finals so it's top 10)

Stk were asking for parker + first pick last year for pick 1.
It's a steep price.

That's why pick 1 never gets traded. Clubs don't want to give up proven guns for a potential one.

Now, I know some people may think I've been hitting the cones but would it be worth considering putting him forward before retiring him.
Just a crazy thought I know but I believe he performed quite OK last time he played there.

Just putting it out there.

Got the rest of the year before the retirement.
Might play on if he can go forward and make a difference.

Damn crazy talk....

Poor guys been struggling with a knee injury. He will be fine.

I agree about playing him forward. Could easily play for another 2-3 years in that role.

I hope he can play another 2-3 years. He did afterall sign a new 3 year deal only last year. (As did Jamison).

The way we deliver the ball inside 50 we definitely need guys who can jump onto their opponents' shoulders. Walker should definitely be playing forward when fit.

Don't be surprised if Simpson announces his retirement shortly. Very good friends of Jordan Bannister and has applied for an umpiring gig at the AFL next year.

Been one of our best for a long time now, and through some dark times too. And for such a low draft pick too

I would go to his last game to pay homage, even if we will lose by 100.

Talk about trading players for high draft picks seems to ignore the realities of free agency. Why would anyone trade a first round pick for a Carlton player when they could probably pick up a comparable player for nothing through free agency. And enough with all the trading possibilities. Posters who lauded the recruiting of Jones and Tutt want to put their hands up? How about we try and be the best side at the draft, develop all our players really well, establish a strong culture, have a great young coaching group, retain players because they love the place and see a future and be patient.

And we have been burnt once with free agency. We are paying for the Daisy of 2010 not the guy who can't kick over a jam jar and gets all his possessions near the boundary inside the oppositions 50. No-ne will come to us for any reason other than money, and overpaying players has been a weakness of ours in the past. There is no quick fix - none. Look at the Bullies and the Sts, embarrassingky they are showing us the way with there no name coaches and there talented young list.

However the Rice boy sounds good. We picked a bad year to be a worse prospect than the Saints.
