Wouldn't be a precedent, we went cap in hand to ask David Parkin back.

Leigh Tuddor, Stuart Dew or Nathan Bassett get my vote.

I think the club needs to appoint a young untried coach with good credentials to grow with the young list as we rebuild. That's what this playing list is crying out for. Not old foes like Malthouse and Whiley. There's a huge generational gap at the moment.

Also, someone like Dew or Bassett will give the club some clear air for a number of years and that's what this place needs. Some clear air space from the media and time to rebuild without so much media attention on our club.

I think if we appoint a tried coach like Bomber, Woosha or Voss the media attention will continue to intensify.

This is the reason why the club pushed for Mark Loguidice to be president because he comes with no baggage and hardly anyone knows him and the media can't write much about him.

I'd rather take Bomber.

No, that would just be another big name repeating what we have already done.

Need to have a proper process and get the best candidate from that.

bomber has his own baggage..but
I really miss an attacking game plan.
i loved the way the Cats played, and the Bombers played really well (mostly ) under him as well.
He's got something.
Don't want another old fart in Woosha.
I don't believe we'd get him after malty anyway.
I'd get Bomber with a view to him mentoring Voss...or Lenny ..or whoever has loads of promise.
If i were King that is.
I'd sack Malty..make the board pay..cos it is their fault..
then I'd hire Bomber, and do a due process for the next in line.
In other words..like Melbourne did.

Oh, and I'd sakc the board after they paid out Malty.
Then we'd all vote on who might be worthy to run our club.

I agree with this, would prefer bomber over woosha but both would do fine.

A young coach would be stuffed coming into this mess, appoint one of the above if Malthouse goes and find a suitable young replacement in a succession plan. As you said just like Melbourne. Geez we really are at rock bottom.

No more sacked coached, or ones that suddenly lost their passion.

Go through proper process and get someone with a vision, and plan that is realistic. No bullshit.

I don't mind Worsfold being appointed as a coaching mentor role, even senior coach in name like Roos at Melbourne, but I'd want a younger coaching panel appointed after an extensive search and interviewing process by an independent panel. I also would like to see our development coaching beefed up along with that.

I want some clear direction on where the list is going and what the coaching panel will look like over the next 5 years and some honesty about how we plan to develop our players.

No quick fixes.

We do need an emotionally mature man
A moral man as well, would be more than we could hope for.
I admit that Bomber is not that.
I just like his game plan style.
MM is most definitely not that man.

What's the hit/miss ratio of an intensive interview process? 50% ?

So many of these young coaches have been moved on in recent times due to unfulfilled outcomes.

In saying that, I'd like to try this interview thing... for once.

No mentors... no ex coaches that have been out of the game.

I reckon the only time we ever had a proper interview process was when we decided to give Shano 'O the lemonade and sarse and find ourselves a brand new recruiter. That thorough and detailed process delivered us Wayne Hughes....................stunning success that was......................nah,i like the old Carlton way of targetting your man and get him no matter what.Back in the old days Carlton knew wheat from chaff so it was not a matter of getting someone but getting someone good.Trouble is these days they wouldnt know cow droppings or diamonds..............Hopefully SOS may become our new Wes Lofts,Laurie Kerr,Bugsy Comben .

MLG will not sack him. The board are hoping Mick walks. Smart move because it will save us $700,000 in a year where we are looking at huge loss.

MLG is a peanut. Won't even come on TV or radio and explain position. So much for member engagement. This is damaging the club, the image and costing money.

Please explain why we should wait? Please explain what we are trying to achieve?

I thought when MLG was appointed things may change. They have but for the worse. Well done.

Don't forget he was part of the board which appointed Malthouse.

Will anyone on the board be held accountable for the Malthouse appointment?

He came out last week and said he will honour his contract.

Sorry but the peanuts are the inept soft bunch of overpaid players who are disgracing the Carlton Jumper and totally disrespecting a champion of our code.

Malthouse isn't doing anything wrong. It runs much much deeper than the coach.

So before going and calling our president a peanut, get your facts straight.
