Collingwood mate of mine told me at the time we appointed that we were making a mistake and that Mick was past it.

Mick needs to go but he isn't the only one. This is a club issue.

Serious question marks over MLG, the board, Trigg, Recruiting dept, Coaches & McKay.

Thankfully Hughes & Rodgers have gone already.

I actually feel for Trigg
He's only been their 6 months.... Poor bastard
And he thought Adelaide was a shit hole!!!!

Eddie warned Pratt about Mick. When Ratten was sacked, she was the one pushing for Roos.

The Pratt's hate Malthouse.

Can't she send a goon around to Micks to make him an offer he can't refuse lol

As far as I'm aware, Visy/Pratt won't pay out Malthouse. They were warned by the son in law.

The only way Malthouse goes early is if Mathieson pays his contract out.

We don't owe him any more than this year. He gets paid for that anyway. The only cost is a promotion of one of the assistants, probably Laidley, to the senior position.

Same thing was said about Port. Senior jobs are so hard to come by. They'd jump at it.

Would be a $500 k payout at this point just for his contract alone.

Then he should pay it now. Mick is a very dangerous man when he knows he's on his way out. His bitterness totally sabotaged our 2011 season when we were arguably the best team that year and poised to go back to back. But his ego and selfishness really destabilised the Club and the players.

Personally I don't think you can afford not to pay him out.

He needs to go now.. But won't happen.
The club can't afford 200k to pay somebody for the rest of the season.

Also nobody will want it.. It's a poison chalice.
This is not a gig any smart young coach will want

If Mick goes this year, his mate Buttifant will leave with him too.

You're telling me that Laidley wouldn't do it for say $100k more. I reckon he would. No pressure to win games, just play kids and give them freedom

Will cost $100k more

In fact, I'd say that if Mick were told he was going to be sacked and Laidley already accepted the caretaker role, Mick's ego might allow him to orchestrate some family deflection and he and the club could negotiate a reduced settlement...just to save Mick the embarrasment of a termination

It's a moot point cause we're f$^%&&(&$##%$%$^%&^*&&%$#$^*%^^& anyway

Laidley would do it for one hundred more.. But you'll need somebody to come in and help for an extra one hundred too.
We haven't had the cash to splash on coaches.. Before this..

When I say we dont have money we don't have money!

Reminds me so much of Port before KH arrived.
Barely a team.
